Bring Me Challenge #30 BRING ME "A Fountain"

“For this week's Bring Me Challenge, it is a Fountain. I have remembered the last time I visited the Minor Basilica of the Holy Child, Basílica Menor del Santo Niño de Cebú, or as locals know, the Santo Niño Basilica.

It is one of the churches in Cebu where the first image of Santo Niño was first brought here in the Philippines by Ferdinand Magellan as a gift to the chieftain in Cebu, Raja Humabon (Carlos), and was again found in a burned hut. The Santo Niño Basilica was first founded in 1565.

I visited this Basilica months ago after I submitted my requirements for enrollment to seek guidance and get blessed to be chosen as one of the students of the university I have enrolled to.

The Santo Niño Basilica is a sacred place and it also has a museum where the antique church things, furnitures, altars, the pictures of old priests and alsp adoration chapel, where you fall in line and wait just to see the image of Santo Niño to say your prayers. There's also what we call "Dagkutanan" where you can light candles and avail your prayers.

There is also an area inside the Santo Niño basilica where you can sit and take a rest or watch the fishes in the pond. This place is also where you can see the fountain and take pictures. However, when inside the church you cannot take pictures.

You can visit the Santo Niño Basilica which is open everyday from 6am - 7 pm and located at a city block bordered by Osmeña Boulevard, D. Jakosalem St, P. Burgos St. and the Plaza Sugbo where the Magellan's Cross is located

You can attend mass in the Santo Niño basilica weekdays morning 7 am and 8 am and afternoon 12:15 pm and 5:30.
