Hello midnight owls. It's another midnight writing here again. I'm awake this hour while the world sleeps. Well, that's because I'm one of those who don't sleep early. It's around 4:30 AM here as I make this post.
I tend to like these midnight hours. The deafening silence is nice and cooperative for work. I can hear and take note of little things that wouldn't possibly happen during the day. It kind of feels good to be awake while the noisy world is asleep. In a few hours, it will be awake, but before then, let me enjoy the remaining hours till I hit the bed to hopefully catch some rest.
Looking at how much I've gotten used to staying awake at night, it kind of feels like, why do some people sleep early? Like, as early as 8 PM, or 9 PM for some. I understand why it could be so with some people, especially those who work from morning till evening, and would have to probably deal with traffic to get home. At the end of all that, they are so exhausted, and hitting the bed early is a no option for them.

When I tell people that I don't sleep early, some get to wonder like, why? Well, I do a lot at midnight. That was what I told a friend of mine when she reacted in like manner. She's an early sleeper. The funny thing though is that a good number of my friends, the close ones I'll say, are people who don't really sleep early. So, I guess I have a little convincing work to do. But if I were to convince someone; like my friend, to stay awake at midnight, it would mean a calculated effort.
Though some have made it clear that staying awake at midnight isn't and won't really be their thing, maybe the right bait and hook would make them reconsider, consciously or subconsciously. I would find out what they like doing, and then try to get us do it at midnight hours. Sometimes, we need a hand to drag or push us to do something. That might be the push or pull that a friend or somebody could need.
It could be playing a game; their favourite game or discussions about something of their interest. This could be movies, favourite series, sports, life experiences or some mutual memories or events. I must say that this could be a difficult one, given that I would have to give up my precious, useful midnight for all that. But hey, I'm trying to make a new midnight owl, I guess I could do that. Besides, I could multitask.

With time, it could become a routine and staying awake at midnight could end up becoming their thing. I would come through their skills also, especially if they are digital skills. Since I leverage the midnight hours to do some of my work with regard to my skills, I would implore them to do the same, citing more time they would have by staying awake at midnight and doing their work, or learning or whatever that's of benefit to them in that regard.
I hope I get to convince one of them.
