I started this series of text paintings at Billy's studio on Monday and mounted them on to cardboard yesterday. I'll take some to The Camden Market Free Art Man today. Which meant the photograhy had to be done at nighttime last night as I don't have time in the mornings before leaving for Camden. Making good use of the £18 light I bought from B&M in Wood Green for the Black Ivory Podcast:
There's 21 so far covered in Advertism with the manifestos for both Anarchy for Art and Free Art Frees Art on the backs. As always, holes in the top corners for hanging. I'm still using carboard from a massive stash I found in Muswell Hill a week or so ago. Here's a photo of them half finished at Billy's, pre-cardboard:
Two layers of pink, some of them in mirror writing as they're the ones hte others are pressed on to, to get the print. Starting text series at the dockyard works out as I have enough floor space there to spread them out and get them done quickly, which I don't have at home. It also means I don't lose a day's worth of making work for Camden by doint the five hour round trip to Chatham. The acrylic paint dries fast enough to take them home the same day.
NATURES ORDER is hand stamped letter by letter in rubine red Caligo oil based printing inks. The black letter outlines are done with a 7M bullet Posca pen.
I'm finally returning to Camden as an old friend of mine is visiting there and the weather isn't forecast to be too bad. Sunny enough but windy, so I'll have to rest my trolly up against the big paintings to try and stop them blowing in to the road and tourists. It's worth finding a way to overcome the wind anyway as I'm losing too many days to bad weather as it is. Overcoming the rain means finding a second location that's under cover, which will be much more difficult.
Finally, here's the blockchain video make forgery impossible. Watch and learn artworld!
