My BusyBees & SlothlySavers Weekly Update - 2026 Week 9

The #SaturdaySavers programme run with huge dedication and commitment by @shanibeer came to an end with the close of 2025.

But there are a couple of initiatives to keep the motivation going !

I've decided to post them in the BusyBees Community. This is a community set up to support @zakludick's tireless work in encouraging and teaching newer Hive users. Additionally, I'm adding the #SlothlySavers tag and linking my updates in their weekly update post, because that's another place where former #SaturdaySavers are gravitating to.

How Did The Week Go ?

I have to admit I was almost entirely absent from Hive this last week.

I had to focus on my business for a few days, to resolve some technical problems. They were mainly caused by Microsoft blocking outbound automated emails to any email addresses controlled by them (Hotmail etc). Not because of anything we'd done, but purely as collateral damage to their insane antispam policies which apply collective punishment to large blocks of IP addresses if any one of them is blacklisted (rightly or wrongly) for sending spam.

In the process of fixing it, I switched to a new IT support company who are based locally, and they helped me clear out a lot of legacy setup issues. Hopefully with their help I'll be able to continue my project of de-Microsofting my life before the Office 365 subscription comes up again.

Meanwhile on Hive, the price seems to have stabilised a bit. It dipped slightly, but that's only to be expected on the day that the world seemed to go to Hell in a handcart, and it could have been a lot worse. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the prices of gold and Bitcoin on Monday when the markets wake up !

Probably the most important thing to be aware of, however..... Tomorrow is Hive Power-Up Day !!

With the price being low, and a lot of HBD having been converted to HIVE as well as rewards being paid in HIVE rather than HBD, there should be lots of liquid HIVE floating around the system just waiting to be powered up 😁
