My BusyBees & SlothlySavers Weekly Update - 2026 Week 42

The #SaturdaySavers programme run with huge dedication and commitment by @shanibeer came to an end with the close of 2025.

But there are a couple of initiatives to keep the motivation going !

I've decided to post them in the BusyBees Community. This is a community set up to support @zakludick's tireless work in encouraging and teaching newer Hive users. Additionally, I'm adding the #SlothlySavers tag and linking my updates in their weekly update post, because that's another place where former #SaturdaySavers are gravitating to.

How Did The Week Go ?

I'm a day later posting this than usual, but for a very good reason. I spent yesterday in London at a Hive meetup, along with @shanibeer, @livinguktaiwan, @adetorrent, @steevc and @davidthompson57. It was really great to put faces to names ! I must admit I probably talked to much... sorry guys ! I don't get out much.....

This week was pretty respectable in terms of number of posts, and my overall activity level on Hive last week was back to what is normal for me after a couple of very chaotic weeks. The chaos was reflected in my earnings, but hopefully they'll be back to normal soon 🙂

In the wider world of Hive the price has dipped a bit which as pushed the Hive Debt level up a notch. But it's almost entirely down to overall market sentiment, and everything else (including gold and silver) has dropped by a similar kind of percentage. It is only to be expected with two key elections (Israel and the US mid-terms) coming up in the next few weeks, as well as the oil price jumping significantly due to events in the Middle East. I'm not too worried, once the elections are out of the way we should return to whatever passes for normal these days.

But whatever is going on in the world, my plan is to keep posting and curating, and keep on building up my Hive Power. I'm convinced that if we can sort out our governance and if we can produce dapps which are useful and comprehensible to real-world users then the price of Hive will stay stable and eventually go back up properly.

It sounds like you had a fantastic time at the London meetup, even if you did most of the talking. Meeting people in person really changes how you see the platform.
