The #SaturdaySavers programme run with huge dedication and commitment by @shanibeer came to an end with the close of 2025.
But there are a couple of initiatives to keep the motivation going !
I've decided to post them in the BusyBees Community. This is a community set up to support @zakludick's tireless work in encouraging and teaching newer Hive users. Additionally, I'm adding the #SlothlySavers tag and linking my updates in their weekly update post, because that's another place where former #SaturdaySavers are gravitating to.

Here's a screenshot of last week's progress;

This was quite a complex week in terms of Hive account value !
The biggest single factor is completely external. American actions over Greenland, it's insulting treatment of both European and Southeast Asian allies, and what amounts to piracy on the high seas (bear in mind it's capturing tankers based on self-decided US sanctions, not UN-mandated ones - describing a ship as part of a "shadow fleet" just means they are buying insurance from their own countries' insurers, not Lloyds of London) are raising serious questions.
If the US ignores international law (as opposed to it's self-declared "rules based order") when it comes to commercial shipping and the sovereign rights of other countries, then proposes a defence budget of 1.5 trillion dollars funded by borrowing, then what confidence can countries have that US debt they hold will be honoured ? Several countries including Germany and Italy are talking about repatriating more of their gold reserves from the US.
The result has been a massive spike in the price of gold and silver, and a significant crash in the US Dollar. Bearing in mind that the pound is also sliding, the GBP-USD exchange rate has dropped from $1.34 to $1.36 to the pound in three days. Gold has gone up over £150 per ounce.
The net effect of this is that all assets pegged to dollars have dropped in value. Makes me glad I turned most of my HBD into HIVE !
In terms of my own goals, I've increased my posting rate a decent amount (nearly on target !) although the earnings won't come in for another few days. I'm on target with my comments, and hopefully keeping the quality of them up, which combined with curation rewards should help my HP.
Next Sunday is HPUD, which will be a nice opportunity to make sure my HP is on target.
HBD post rewards have been a little disappointing in relation to the HP posts earn. I'm not sure if that's just me having over-optimistic expectations, or a function of the way Hive distributes rewards reflecting the relative prices of HIVE and HBD. It's not at a point where I'm worried, though.
One other thing I did was cancel a long-standing trade I'd set up in Hivedex to convert a bulk of HBD to liquid HIVE if the HIVE price dropped below a certain point. That was intended as a stop-loss. However, the price of HIVE is now high enough relative to the debt support price that I think I've got enough time to act if there's a big price drop.
So I've moved that HBD back into savings where it should significantly increase the monthly interest I get. It's also a comfort factor thing; as far as I can work out, I think HBD sitting on Hivedex is controlled by them and if ever their site broke I can't see any mechanism or guarantee to get it back.
So that's what my week has looked like - I hope yours has been as good !

Keep on buzzing, SlothlySaver buzsybee!
