My BusyBees & SlothlySavers Weekly Update - 2026 Week 38

The #SaturdaySavers programme run with huge dedication and commitment by @shanibeer came to an end with the close of 2025.

But there are a couple of initiatives to keep the motivation going !

I've decided to post them in the BusyBees Community. This is a community set up to support @zakludick's tireless work in encouraging and teaching newer Hive users. Additionally, I'm adding the #SlothlySavers tag and linking my updates in their weekly update post, because that's another place where former #SaturdaySavers are gravitating to.

How Did The Week Go ?

I'm a day late posting this, as I was off in Dover yesterday doing a "show and tell" type re-enactment event, which meant I had to set off super-early and got home quite late and thoroughly exhausted. A good night's sleep solved that. 🙂

It was good to see the price of most cryptos moving upwards, and HIVE definitely rose with the tide. This in turn helped the Hive Debt Level drop to 22.6%, the lowest for a long time. But really it's still too high and too dependent on external factors, so (as I keep banging on about) we need to take the lessons we've learned to heart in terms of controlling the DHF, gaining and retaining Hivers, and generally managing our governance.

In terms of my own personal progress, HBD interest came in, although only at 2.36 HBD. I'll need to rebuild by stash if it's to deliver the interest it used to, but I don't regret converting most of my HBD to HP, because it's helped my curation earnings considerably and managed risk. I think the answer to that really is for the Hive Debt to drop enough that rewards start being paid out in HBD again.

I'm posting slightly more again, so keeping above my weekly target, but still a couple of percent off my overall goal. My curation is still pretty healthy, and I'm still following my policy of trying to make a reasonable number of detailed pointful comments rather than dozens and dozens of "nice post" meaningless ones. It's a conversation, after all !

Apart from that, there's not a lot to report.... everything is just plodding along nicely 😀
