My BusyBees & SlothlySavers Weekly Update - 2026 Week 24

The #SaturdaySavers programme run with huge dedication and commitment by @shanibeer came to an end with the close of 2025.

But there are a couple of initiatives to keep the motivation going !

I've decided to post them in the BusyBees Community. This is a community set up to support @zakludick's tireless work in encouraging and teaching newer Hive users. Additionally, I'm adding the #SlothlySavers tag and linking my updates in their weekly update post, because that's another place where former #SaturdaySavers are gravitating to.

How Did The Week Go ?

With the HIVE price being so low at present, it's definitely hard to keep the mojo going ! This is combined with summer being a time when I've got a lot of real life things going on, so my posting rate has been pretty poor for the last little while.

But I've kept up with curation, and been putting effort into the comments I make and discussions I get involved in. It's interesting to see that the rewards I'm getting for comments are almost the same as those I get from author rewards !

One thing that did happen this week is that the Hive Debt percentage tripped over the 26% mark, topping out at nearly 27% before dropping back today to 25.45%.

This is over my personal risk appetite in terms of proximity to the 30% haircut level, so I've pulled all my HBD out of savings and created a trade in HiveDex to convert it all to liquid HIVE if the price drops to a certain point. I'll get lots of HIVE, which should generate enough revenue through curation etc to offset the HBD interest I'll be losing.

If the Hive Debt percentage drops to consistently under 24%, then I'll happily put the HBD back in savings; it's all about risk management. I still haven't found anyone who can understands the haircut rule clearly enough to explain to me if losses created by it are permanent or revert if the debt level drops !

That's all for now.... have great weeks everyone, and keep posting and curating ! I still reckon Hive is the best Web3 place to be, and it's certainly the one with the most potential 😁
