My BusyBees & SlothlySavers Weekly Update - 2026 Week 14

The #SaturdaySavers programme run with huge dedication and commitment by @shanibeer came to an end with the close of 2025.

But there are a couple of initiatives to keep the motivation going !

I've decided to post them in the BusyBees Community. This is a community set up to support @zakludick's tireless work in encouraging and teaching newer Hive users. Additionally, I'm adding the #SlothlySavers tag and linking my updates in their weekly update post, because that's another place where former #SaturdaySavers are gravitating to.

How Did The Week Go ?

This was a fairly stable week for things like the prices of HIVE and HBD, as well as the debt ratio.

Gold and Bitcoin have climbed very slightly, while the Pound Sterling has dipped slightly against the US Dollar. That's probably something to do with markets realising that UK power stations are fired by gas normally bought from the Gulf. The cost of energy is likely to be a factor in UK economic performance.

The main thing that happened, of course, was HPUD. That wonderful first of the month ritual 😁 Having turned most of my HBD into liquid HIVE over the last little while, I was in a position to power up 1000 HIVE, taking me to over 20K HP. Technically, that means I've already hit my HP goal for the year, but it's at the expense of totally wiping out my HBD goal.

The logic is that at the current price of HIVE, I'm so far underwater on my original investment that it's not worth trying to reclaim some of the investment, so the best thing to do is power it up and maximise earnings through curation until the price eventually recovers.

Something else I did was dip into Snapie, which is another of Hive's short-form front ends I hadn't explored yet. I like it ! The GUI is clean and clear, and the Hangouts feature is a really interesting addition that I'll see if I can try out soon.

Apart from that.... Happy Easter and have a fabulous week ! 😀
