MCGI TOPIC REVIEW: is it required for a man or woman to get engaged before baptism?

This is a question that comes to most believers mind, should I get engaged before being baptized?

No!

Marriage must not prevent or obstruct baptism. So far you are born again and you understand the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ, nothing should stop you from getting baptized since your since have been washed away.

As some pastors requires marriage first before getting baptized, there is no scriptural backup for this and that is why being baptized is following what God has said because in the real sense of it, there is no connection between getting married before you can be baptized.

Being baptized as soon as you become a born again Christian is according to the commandant of God. But waiting for you to get baptized because you are not yet married is following the flesh, which is totally wrong.

According to the holy book, getting married is a sensual desire. Getting baptized is answering the call to divinity. A lot of believer are happily married to someone who has not been baptized and this clearly shows that, it is not a requirement for anyone to wait till they marry before they get baptized.
So, it is not a requirement for anyone to be married first before getting baptized.
