The one-day A.K.O. Training Activities Program conducted by PhilHealth Davao was a meaningful and educational experience for all participants. Together with the IDEALS staff and Indigenous Peoples (I.P.) volunteers from Marilog District, Davao City, we attended this activity to strengthen our knowledge and understanding of PhilHealth programs and services. The training provided valuable information that will help us serve our communities more effectively, especially in assisting individuals who need access to healthcare benefits and PhilHealth membership services.

The program started with a warm welcome from the organizers and resource speakers from PhilHealth Davao. They introduced the objectives of the training and emphasized the importance of the A.K.O. Program in promoting awareness and accessibility of PhilHealth services in different communities. The speakers discussed various topics related to PhilHealth membership, benefits, registration processes, and the responsibilities of Accredited Community Partners and volunteers in helping community members understand and avail themselves of PhilHealth programs.

Throughout the day, participants actively listened to presentations and engaged in discussions. The resource speakers explained the latest updates regarding PhilHealth policies, membership categories, and healthcare benefits available to Filipinos. The sessions were informative and interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and clarify concerns regarding healthcare coverage and services. The discussions helped us gain a deeper understanding of how PhilHealth works and how we can effectively share this knowledge with our respective communities.

One of the highlights of the training was the collaborative participation of the IDEALS staff and I.P. volunteers. The activity fostered teamwork, cooperation, and mutual learning among participants from different backgrounds. It provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss common challenges faced in delivering information and assistance to community members, particularly those living in remote and underserved areas of Marilog District.

The training also emphasized the importance of reaching Indigenous Peoples and ensuring that they are informed about their healthcare rights and benefits. As volunteers and community workers, we learned practical strategies on how to assist residents in registration, updating records, and understanding PhilHealth programs. These lessons will help us become more effective advocates for health awareness and social protection within our communities.

At the end of the training, participants were recognized for their active involvement and commitment to community service. Receiving a Certificate of Attendance served as a reminder of the knowledge gained and the responsibility entrusted to us. The experience strengthened our dedication to helping individuals and families access healthcare services and enjoy the benefits provided by PhilHealth.

Overall, the one-day A.K.O. Training Activities Program was a successful and enriching event. We are grateful to PhilHealth Davao for organizing this important activity and for providing us with the knowledge and skills needed to better serve our communities. Together with the IDEALS staff and I.P. volunteers from Marilog District, Davao City, we remain committed to promoting health awareness, supporting PhilHealth initiatives, and helping ensure that quality healthcare becomes more accessible to everyone.
