Trust me, I really enjoyed reading this because it reminded me so much of my own childhood with those story books with evocative stories. My dad preferred is reading to watching cartoons but he was more focused on educational books while I chosed stories for myself and my mom made it possible by buying me those story books whenever she found one at the market.
Anyway, I like how you’ve kept that same spirit of learning from stories all the way into adulthood, just shifting from folktales to self-help. And that part about knowing why you read really struck me. I think that’s what keeps the reading spark alive. Personally, I read to escape reality and for the thrill of it.
