RE: Book review: The Anxious Generation (Jonathan Haidt)

Do we just proxy the depressive episodes to later life by avoiding having it occur younger?

Yes and no! We still are vulnerable for addictions, but our frontal cortex has developed, so it has less impact.

People see through the BS and the platforms die (best case scenario) and everyone comes to Hive where we are, as a community, a little bit more pragmatic and realistic about things?

This surely is the best option. Hive has a lot more advantages. There is no company behind it that wants to earn from the users. There are no endless feeds. And there are no personalized algorithms that keep showing you the same, over and over again.

And a refreshing lack of irrelevant ads. The one thing I think we can improve with is the lack of the summoned bots leaving massive advertising remarks on the posts (not talking about topcomment, fyi) - but there are things that really clutter up the interface.

It feels like my frontal cortex is constantly developing, even now, or perhaps I'm just entering a different era of development and giving far less fucks than is probably socially acceptable :D
