Escaping the Soviet Republic to follow my dreams!

Good evening buzzers! I come to you from the dugout! Having spent several weeks locked in the Soviet Republic I've finally found freedom! Well, I say freedom. I've jumped from the pot into the kettle! Or something like that!

I was sitting procraastinating the weekend away and I got fed up building my Soviet republic. My Youtube algorithm took a swing into football manager and lo and behold, I found myself downloading FM 26! So now, I'm a slothly football manager!

The funny thing, I'm not even that into football. Ok, recently at work I've been chatting with my workmates about it a bit more, but overall, it doesnt have much of a draw on me. Now, don't get me wrong. Football is massive here! I played when I was young, managed to snap my cruciate ligament and put those dreams to rest pretty early.

Having a little bit of a buzzy brain, not playing football meant I lost most interest in it. I played some football games on the PS1 back in the day, in fact, one of the main ones that stick in my memory was...damn totally forgot, having a google, I can't seem to find it. I seem to remember it as based on Alan Shearer or something however the closest I can come to finding it is 'Actua soccer' , possibily number 2.

Anyways, I recall having a little notebook where I recorded all my goal scorers, which quickly spiraled out of control as I was able to score 10 if not 20 goals a game! I was using the 'special' selected legends team if I recall correctly! The hours that I spent playing that with my damaged knee are untold! I guess that's what started my real love of computer games!

Anyways, back to present day, my steamdeck is sitting beside me, whispering, sloth, come play, check your never opponent, you need to solidify your team, slothhhhh stop adulting and play with ussssss! Football Manager 26 has me hooked for now. I like the management aspect of games, so the football side isn't all that important any more.

Yeah, it's addictive, it's time killing, it's procrastinating for procrastinations sake! I guess, I should make this a slothlysavers post too, incase I don't have the chance to step away from my management responsibilities!

  • SlothlySavers 2026 Goals:
    HP: 15,000 (4,800 HP Needed)
HBD Savings: 750 (220 HBD Needed)
  • Last week's update - Week 6:
    HP: 10,351 (4649 HP Required - 4% achieved)
    HBD Savings: 540 (210 HBD Needed - 5% achieved)
  • This Week's Update - Week 7:
    HP: 10,396 (4604 HP Required - 5% achieved)
    HBD Savings: 540 (210 HBD Needed - 5% achieved)

HBD savings have somewhat stalled due to the payout change to HP/Hive, although, my Hive time has also stalled which hasn't helped either goals! My HP is slothly rising, and I have a nice little amount of Hive growing ready to power up, hopefully this means I should smash my #SlothlySavers goal for HP at least!

Well, that's all for now, until next time,

Sloth out!
