Hello shadow hunters and hello to all you sunny positive people of the wonderful Hive blockchain.....
Strange title you might think! Well perhaps not it is me after all the mad Scotsman, but yesterday I had a nonscheduled appointment to get some vaccinations.
As I now give myself fortnightly injections of some live bacteria thing to combat my arthritis it means my immune system has been lowered significantly.
My rheumatology department arranged it back in January and on Monday I got a call asking if I could attend the above Vaccination Centre yesterday.
Turns out it was for a covid booster vaccination centre.
And as you can tell from the blue skies, the sun was out, infact it ended up being the hottest day of the year and hit 25C, a fluffing heatwave in April!
The sun being high with no clouds meant for ... some ... yes, you guessed it ... shadows....
I was quite lucky as I had seen all these senior citizens walking past me into the centre clutching appointment letters.
As mine appointment was arranged via the telephone two days earlier I had no letter. Fluff it, I didn't even have a confirmation text.
Did I have the right day? The right time? I was sure it was Wednesday at 2pm. They were only there on Wed and Friday and as Friday is Mrs T's off day from work I was not going to waste it with me getting some bloody shots!
I got there about twenty to two and set on a wooden bench that I was familiar with. This is the hospital that Mrs T went to with her foot problems so I knew the layout and where to go for the vaccinations etc.
So I sat and people watched and then I got to shadow hunting!
In fact you can see the edge of the bench in this next shadow pic..
Looking back the other direction I noticed the windows.
Yes they had shadows too, after all you can't keep a good window out!
This one also shows the other end of the bench.
Back to the bin though and oh no, my rucksack is in the pic!
Just to show you the day, it was fluffing gorgeous and I am paying for it today π€£
The female nurse explained about the different vaccinations I was getting. Shingles in one arm and the other two in my other arm.
"You didn't drive did you?" she said
"No" said I truthfully
"Good" said she
"And the Shingles injection might give you flu like symptoms for a day or so, so you should go straight home and take plenty of water etc.."
"Okay, sounds like a plan" says I in a little big white lie!
Like fluff I would, that weather, I went exploring a park I hadn't been to, and after 2 hours went shopping before meeting Mrs T on her bus.
Needless to say I am suffering today π€£
Yes it's that time for me to choose my entry picture!
That was another tough choice, but fluff it, fun has to win the day!
It just captures that wee bit more of an imagination twist, it has all the straight line classics of a sharp shadow with a smooth curved dome thrown into the mix!
I never know which picture to choose as the entry, and I do try to make a story with my posts rather than just a post and a run kind of thing!!
What do you think? Did I pick the suitable one, or would you have chosen another one?
It's the best shadow among the rest I think. Again the COVID vaccination. I don't want to get any of it again. I remember how I suffer after getting the booster shotππ
Hehe salamat maganda, yes well I think you made me suffer this time π€£
Excellent selection! At this moment we have in Cumana 30Β°! 25 is cold in Cumana. hahaha. They sent you home and you went for a walk. You are a disobedient boy, Ed! I hope the pain passes soon. I send you a warm and blue hug.
Guilty as charged! Well as you know it took me quite some time to get better! The temperature has dropped so I need another warm and blue hug Nancy ;)
I would also have chosen that shot! I must get my act together and start sharing my shadow photos again.
Take it easy, no more
Look after yourself Ed!
Yeah sharing shadow pictures and trying to intertwine a story is a fun thing to do Lizzie!
hehe I slept after I wrote this post and am only just waking up properly again!
Thanks for hosting it!
Your entry shadow picture is cool. The clear sunny sky is also lovely.
Thank you Becky, was a gorgeous day and some cool pics!
Yeahπ
Did you just say that 25 degrees is one of the hottest days of the year? Where I live, temperatures are around 32, even more. during the summer. π
BTW I think you chose a good photo.π
hehe heck yes 25 is hot even in summer here. I would be happy if it was 25 all year round to be honest. 32C is quite warm!
Last year it was 43 in the shade. I left my car on the sun, black limo, it was 62.... π°. I was well done like π₯©

I've known people who have gotten shingles and I think the temporary suffering is well worth it from what I have heard! Nice shadows on a bright sunny day. Take it easy and get well soon!
Me! Unfortunately shingles is a common side effect ( one of the fluffing many I have found out) of my type of rheumatoid arthritis.
When we living in Spain, I got it on my back and chest, and yes it hurts like a mofo. The spanish call it the snake as that is often what it looks like. They also call it herpes as it is part of that family.
So when I went to the chemist after being at the doctor I wish I could have got swallowed up by the floor when the pharmacist calls out to a full pharmacy....
seΓ±or Eduardo ... I have your herpes cream
A very original entry to the competition without a doubt.
A successful shadow hunt and shingles protection all in one go! Hope you have not had side effects from the day!

Thanks Mel although the vaccines knocked me for a couple of days! Getting better now though.

Glad you survived buddy! I won't every go near an mRNA vaccine again myself. Two day after the first one my left knee became swollen like a grapefruit then both feet too. I ended up hospitalized when the giant clot formed in my lungs a few weeks later. I've never been the same sense and can't even go back to work.
Nice pictures though, I'm glad you're protecting yourself. For most people the vaccines are safe, but for the unlucky like me not so much.
That seriously sucks and I am sorry to hear that. Over the years I have had many vaccinations for working abroad and I never ever had a reaction. This time though, I reacted and had fever and headache and it was a bit of a shock.
I have had shingles before, thankfully just on my back and chest, so when they said there was a vaccine for that I jumped at it.
Vaccines are great, but you nailed it, unfortunately someone finds those side effects. I wish you could start to get better, talk about frightening.
I've considered getting the shingles vaccine, but after this last one I'm not ready for any others any time soon!
