Discipline is important for success

Everyone wants to be successful in life, and having the desire for it is very natural. At the end, nobody wants to be a failure in life. But the reality is that not everyone can achieve success. What makes the difference? In that case, there are many things to consider, but motivation and discipline play the most important role in the case of success. But what is more important, motivation or discipline?

I think studying can be the best example to make it understand what is more important between motivation and discipline. Motivation can be considered as emotion. For various reasons, we can be motivated to achieve something. Suppose one day a teacher shared about his life story and shared how he became good and achieved what he wanted. The story could be inspiring, and it can motivate students to do something great like him. Students became motivated and took the studies seriously for some days, and tried their best. But with time, the motivation that came from the teacher started to fade away when the student faced difficulties with time. Teachers can't share the motivational story all the time, and so it's expected that after a certain time, students will lose motivation and will become lazy for sure if they study hard only for motivation.

In the case of discipline, it has nothing to do with motivation. It is not concerned with how one feels about anything. It only focuses on continuous and regular effort made by one. Keeping aside the feeling in the study, it says to do the study continuously till we achieve a certain goal. Discipline is like taking food steps one after another to reach towards the goal. No step is too big that it can make us exhausted, and no step is too small that it can delay the time of achieving goals. In terms of study, trying to cover a certain lesson each day and continuously doing that every day without any kind of excuse. Discipline to study means making equal and continuous effort for study. It's not like today, I read a lot and tomorrow I will rest. It's like today I prepare some lessons, and tomorrow I will do the same, and it will be the same for the day after tomorrow. It is such a thing that can lead us to sure success.

If motivation is emotion, then discipline can be considered as calculative work and effort. Motivation is needed at the beginning for a start, but it can't ensure success, while disciplined work leads us towards success. It's all about continuous effort, and it can help us to maintain balance in every case without making us exhausted. So to achieve success in life, display in work is needed more than motivation. But I think motivation with disciplined work is the best thing.
