I used to get beaten, and I still carry trauma from homework. My mother would hit me if I didn’t do it.

Oh yikes, well, I didn't get that! I did get grounded if I got anything less than a B though. I tend to see it as my parents just knowing the potential I had, but these days it would probably be considered abuse.
