Good luck with your home improvements. Especially with the roof. As far as the quote, if you trust your friend, go with him. It is hard to find trustworthy labor anymore. I have a handyman I trust, who is also a friend now. He is a little high, but worth it. Been through the contractor and handyman grinder before and won't do it again.

Yeah, that is kind of what I am thinking. I wonder since we don't plan on staying in this house if we don't really need the highest end materials. I am waiting to get an alternate quote from him. Probably only going to drop it by about $5000 though...
If not staying in the house, I wouldn't go with high end. HEy, $5K is still $5K :)
