We used to rent vehicles for long trips for the same reason. But we just purchased a newer (used) car. So will probably be taking it for the next few trips. Sounds like a decent trip. At least it seems like the weather was decent. Wasn;t too bad here this weekend. Suppsoed to get some rain later this week. Suprised there was no food pics from the trip though.

Oh there are food pics, I just didn't want to waste it all on Monday! :) Went to a couple southern stables for the first time. I wouldn't have had an issue taking my wife's Buick. It's a much nicer ride than what we rented, but her tires are shot to the point that they wouldn't even rotate them last time I took it in, so until we get new ones, I don't want to drive it too far.
I always look forward to the mouth watering food pics. LOL
I get what you are saying about the tires. Another item that has gotten ridiculously expensive.
