It's interesting to me how humor can be so subjective. I grew up in a pretty straight laced conservative home, so potty humor wasn't really a thing for us. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate a good fart joke now and then, but it's probably a good thing I never had a boy in middle school because it likely would have been a struggle. I never really got into The Three Stooges either. That kind of slapstick humor or whatever you call it just doesn't really appeal to me. It's not that I don't like silly things, I guess I just trigger differently...
It's also safe to say that @mrsbozz and I have very different opinions on what is funny. She can't stand The Office, though occasionally when it is on, I see her smiling to herself about one of the jokes that takes place on the screen. Me on the other hand will be fully engaging my core because I am laughing so hard. Will Ferrell is the same for her. She can't stand him. I on the other hand will happily sit and watch Talladega Nights, Old School, or Anchorman for the fortieth time.
Movies like Dodgeball, Super Troopers, and Tommy Boy I can quote pretty much every line and the jokes never get stale for me. On the other hand, @mrsbozz just looks at me like I am some kind of freak for thinking it is funny or at how easily amused I am.
Let's not even get started on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, she would likely think I was daft!

That isn't to say I am perfect. You know those social situations where you are in a big group, someone says something funny, and then everyone laughs. I'm likely the only one not laughing. Perhaps the other people are laughing merely out of courtesy, then again, maybe I just don't get the joke. I mean, I get the joke, I just don't think it is funny, so I don't laugh. As I think about it, laughing and joy in general is too precious of a thing to waste on a courtesy.
At least that's how I justify it to myself.
Growing up my sister spent a lot of time reading, so I had to entertain myself quite a bit. I got pretty good at it. Personally, I think I am hilarious. I bust myself up on the regular. It's kind of too bad that others can't really see that side of me.
There is a lady comedian named Taylor Tomlinson who currently has a special on Netflix. I was flipping through the previews the other day and I stopped on it just for a second to see if it was something that would pique my wife's interest. She asked what it was and I explained it to her. She didn't seem impressed, so I will likely have to watch it on my own. That's okay though, like I said, humor is subjective.

A long long time ago I dated someone who appreciated the same kind of humor as I do, and while it works well for your buddies, it isn't always the best thing for significant other. I mean ultimately it's sort of like dating yourself, and what is the point of that?
As I said, potty humor wasn't a thing for me growing up, but America's Funniest Home Videos was. It's now called AFV, because we have to shorten everything and specify that the videos don't have to happen at home (or something like that). However, if there is one thing that AFV does really well, it's a good shot to the groin. That's a pretty universally funny thing.
Any guy who has taken a swift thwack to the junk knows the feeling, and any lady seems to universally appreciate the humor as well. That's why I find this clip so absolutely hilarious:
I think for me, the best part of the video is the fact that the robot mimics the guys response after it kicks the guy in the nuts. This is one of those videos that I could honestly watch over and over and I don't think I would ever get tired of it. In fact, I am busting up right now as I type this post having just watched the video for about the hundredth time.
Have you seen this video before? Did you find it as amusing as I do? Do you and your significant other share (all) the same tastes in humor? Is there a specific thing or certain kind of humor everyone else loves but you don't find funny at all?
Let me know about it in the comments!

We all have a differente sense of humor I guess. And overal there is for sure a difference between men and women, like there always is.
I am accused of having bad dad jokes. I can life with that :)
I'm not opposed to a good dad joke here and there! :)

Yikes, I thought sure he was going to hit himself in the nuts. nunchucks seem to be a recipe for disaster like that.
