Hello, my dear Hive fellows! Welcome to my world of traveling.
I'm living in the area which is near the northern region of the Beijing Municipality called Huairou City, one of the largest districts of the Municipality. According to Beijing's size, many of its sections are different from those of a typical megacity around the world. For example, the northern portion of the city is home to several lakes and hundreds of mountains. I consider myself fortunate to reside in such a beautiful area. Miyun City, the closest city of Huairou, is home to Beijing Municipality's largest lake, Miyun Reservoir on which I have written a blog already. In the northern sector of Beijing Municipal, most of the explorable Great Walls are located in this area also where most of the tourists, mainly the foreigners visit.
Miyun district, which is more than 20 km north of Huairou, where I currently reside. Last weekend, I went for a cycling session after a long time as the past weekends and some holidays were full of rain throughout the days and also my mental situation was not good due to my country's mass revolt against the fascist Hasina regime. And we got the victory as the fascist fled to India and now I am turning myself into better state after a traumatized month.
Thus, the Miyun City area lies around 70-80 kilometers north of Beijing's downtown as my living district Huairou is already around 60 km from the Beijing city center. However, the district is very eye-catching compared with any other district in the Beijing Municipality, as the big lake and mountain range add much more value to the area's attractiveness. And if you, like me, are a nature lover and adore mountains, then this district is truly a hidden treasure on the Beijing Municipal. But the weekend was just roaming around the city of the northern district.
In my observation, Beijing lacks a major river in this location, unlike other major cities throughout the world, the beauty and significance of this enormous Miyun lake is really undeniable. And so there are many canal-like rivers from the lake towards the Beijing city area and I found the Baihe River on my way which is just in the heart of the city and I was just around the western side of the city from where I have taken these beautiful clicks.
The exact location was very beautiful as the white marble-looking bridge was so beautiful with its appearance in the city area, so I stopped there to have a clear look at the surrounding area. Most of the time I take photos form my phone while running on the cycle but some amazing spots force me to stop and have in-depth observation. The Baihe River Bridge is such an attractive location to stop my self from having a great look at the city, especially the mountain ranges were amazing with the reflected city view with slightly cloudy blue sky.
There are many places to explore that are just waiting to be discovered in the city area of Miyun, in addition to its abundance of natural beauty. Through the mountains around the city, various sections of the Great Wall of China are visible. Stepping back in time, you may marvel at the structure that formerly defended the Chinese Empire from invasions coming from the north.
And so I have my plan to visit the Gubei Water Town, one of Beijing's Top 5 tourist destinations, which is located just after the city area of the Miyun district. I have plans to visit it in the future when fall comes and the vibrant scenery will be visible on the mountains.
Although the Baihe is technically a canal, I still think of it as a river because of the poor number of rivers in the Beijing Municipal for a people of around 25 million.
Not only is it also crucial for Beijing, a city distant from the sea and any rivers, to have a reliable source of water. The water body serves as a vital resource for Beijing's biodiversity, ensuring that clean water is constantly available for consumption and preserving the ecosystem's equilibrium.
A gorgeous road crossing the river is a wonderful place to take a leisurely or romantic drive. The beautiful view of the city will present you with the experience of the lifestyle of the people far north of Beijing city.
I'd like to conclude by saying that this area is a great place for all types of tourists due to its natural beauty, historical significance, and plenty of activities. Consider the ideal time to travel while making your travel arrangements. In the spring and fall, the scenery is beautiful and the temperature is pleasant.
I hope you like my blog on the cycling session to the Miyun City Baihe River Bridge which is a great place to have a tour in Beijing to embrace the beautiful mother nature in the heart of a concrete world. I hope to catch you in my next blog. If you have any queries, please let me know in the comments.
Thank you very much for your time and attention.
Wishing you a great day, it is time to leave for today, Take care.
asalam alaykum! @tanzil2024 !
Hassan!
I thought the Baihe was artificially created to provide fresh water for living in Beijing!
I think the most important factor for survival for people living in Beijing is fresh drinking water!
I'm glad to join you on your fun journey!😄
Yeah, most these so called rivers are artificial canal I think. Yeah, these canals are for tge fresh water supply and also can be used for water extraction in any unwanted floods due to heavy rain or other reason.
