RE: DUO Guest Author @thelastdash with A Proposal for DUO Guest Author Incentives

On the proposal, I would vote (strongly) against it:

  • I feel the guest author rewards are currently too high. It would be benefitial for the community when the 50% of the post rewards that the DUO holders get - exceeds the price of 5 DUO (dilution of dividend pool) => I proposed an alternative reward system.

  • While I do like the guest posts we currently get - we only have 2 frequent authors, personally I would love to see more writing styles and stories as this would mean we grow. If there are more candidates for guest posts this means that the number of guest posts an individual guest author gets published declines.

I feel that your proposal would benefit (and protect) the guest authors, but would cost the community.

To be fair, ot depends on the amount of posts and duo.
I'm not sure what structure would be best in the long term. I liked your idea a lot when I first read it, but I also see some benefits in the "contract version". Failure to deliver would mean no pay to the author (I think).

That's the point for the contract.

The scheme of 5 staked DUO tokens per post is not viable which I believe is due to the fact that most guest posts don't receive enough HIVE upvotes to offset the cost of buying DUO for author rewards.

I guess you didn't see that, I already mentioned it that rewards most guest posts get is never enough to offset the cost of buying that 5 DUO to reward the author, which makes it unsustainable. This means there should be a review downward on the rewards. However, it shouldn't be based on per post as it currently is.

To have permanent guest authors doesn't mean that they are only going to be a few. It's just still the same as it is right now, but with a purposeful agreement for commitment. The amount of DUO rewards to be paid to authors strictly depends on what the DUO team came up with.

It will benefit and protects both parties. Moreover, the terms of the contract are solely on the hands of the community not the author.

I feel that adjusting it downward, is needed but will not solve that completely if it keeps having a fixed component - I feel that the rewards should be more performance related (and thus more flexible). With this proposal I fail to see the community benefit.

I would love to see a proposal that aims to increase the community value. For example if we could increase the curation rewards guest posts receive, both the author aswell as the holders would benefit.

Having a more independent and dynamic curation system as presented by our guest author would be a more sustainable way to afford the reward of such as the value of the duo would still be below the rewards received all this if the reward of each publication are higher.
You have a very clear point and like you we would also like to see a guest author per day that is a minimum of seven constant writers per week hopefully this has an effective solution and beneficial to all.
