Reflecting on the Essence of Life and What Lies Beyond

Hello hivians, this is my first post here and am happy to be here, for the opportunity to express my thoughts through writing which am still aiming to learn more to improve my writing skills.

This is part of my taught sometimes, and I feel bordered about it many times because In life, we often chase wealth, comfort, and success, but beyond all of these comes a deeper question: what truly is the essence of life? Today, I want to share my reflections on why we exist and what may await us after this journey.

Every day we wake up, breathe, eat, work, and go about our routines, but when we pause for a moment and reflect deeply, a bigger question comes to my mind, what is the essence of life? Why are we here, and what happens after our time on earth is over?
Question to all.

To me, the essence of life is not only about survival, but about purpose. Life becomes meaningful when we realize that each day given to us is an opportunity to make an impact, no matter how small. It could be through helping someone in need, sharing knowledge, or even spreading kindness to those around us. These little acts add up to give our existence valuable meaning.

But purpose is far not always easy to find. Many people struggle with questions like, Am I living for myself? Am I living for others? Or am I living for a greater being who created all things? Different religions and philosophies try to answer this, but one common point is that life is a journey. We are not permanent residents here; we are travelers passing through or along it.

This leads to the next question: what next after life? Death is one reality that no one can escape, whether rich or poor, strong or weak. It often reminds us that our time here is limited. Different beliefs explain what comes after. Some see life after death as an eternal rest, others see it as a transition to another realm heaven, hell, or even reincarnation. Whatever our beliefs may be, one truth is clear: we will not remain here forever.

An illustration that comes to mind is that of a traveler at a bus terminal. Life is like sitting in that terminal: we meet people, share stories, and sometimes even build relationships. But when the bus comes, each person must board according to their ticket and journey to their own destination. In the same way, death is the bus, and life after is the destination.

So the real challenge is not whether the journey will end, but how we live before it ends. The essence of life, to me, is to love, to serve, to grow, and to prepare for what comes next. Because one day, we all must leave, but the footprints we leave behind will speak of the life we truly lived that is you and I legacy.
