It's not easy for parents to send their little ones to school. A lot of kids cry. In your case, you learned more by going to school than if you had stayed at home. For some kids, they can learn more at home, but there is some value in making that trek and meeting people they like and people they don't like and learning how to get along.

It wasn't easy for us as kids back then, due to the long distance from home, but we needed to be at school. In that village, school education was our best chance of a better future, and I appreciate my parents for it as I get older and wiser.
