All About Awareness

#Awareness is a double-edged sword: the more you become aware, whether it be of the world around you or anything specific, the more you will become depressed. Being woken up to the harsh realities of the world is something that many go through in stages, some cope with it better than others. The #truth is, the more aware I become, the more unhappy I get.

Knowing is only half the battle, applying that #knowledge is the hard part. Sometimes, we find #hope in the strangest places; unexpected and unprepared for the change that comes with it. I have often said that there is very little in life worth putting expectations into, because far more often than not, you will be left disappointed and let down.

I wrote this #book at a very dark time in my life, one where I felt trapped, isolated and devoid of hope. I thought that the best way to cope was to pour my #thoughts and #feelings down on the page, like I always had before. I never intended to #publish this book (or the other two that will follow). I never thought that my words would ever be seen, let alone read by anyone else, so I did not hold back.

I censored nothing, I went deep into my own #consciousness, seeking answers within myself, hoping that perhaps I could find some relief, some sort of solace. Little did I realize that fate had other plans in store for me, years later. I began writing this book in late-2016, a time where I was very uncertain of the future. The political pageantry known as the “presidential election” had just taken place, and the air was tense.

Fear was everywhere, people were screaming and there was panic. #Chaos had gripped the minds of millions, not realizing that it was all theatre. None of it was real, it was all imagined: that is the power of the #word. Many do not realize how powerful words are. They are capable of achieving any means you might desire.

Whether it be to instill feelings in others, change the way people think, or even change the hearts and minds of strangers, words will always retain their power. As V so infamously says in V For Vendetta, “Ideas are bulletproof."

That is precisely what I have done with Awareness. The ideas contained within are mine, and mine alone. They are immortal, they will never falter, they will never cease to have an effect, for they are #bulletproof.
