Talking about addictions. Addiction is a serious thing and most persons who are addicted to several things know they are in a situation where they need a lot of help.

On my first post on addiction, I talked about addiction to smoking and the intricacies surrounding the men whom I’ve been in touch with who are seriously battling with mostly addiction to smoking.

There’s a general cliche which these men also say back to me and thats them telling me that they don’t drink, they don’t womanize as they put it , they only smoke.

So in their mind, a man must be under one or more of these influence. It’s either you are addicted to smoking or addicted to sex or you are addicted to alcohol. And as pathetic as some of these may seem, there are people who are addicted to all of these and maybe more.

Talking of sexual addiction, I’ve actually heard a guy tell his story on how he was addicted to sex. He was able to share this because he had been delivered from the hold of sexual addiction and hence he was sharing his experiences.

He said sex was a therapy to him. When he was depressed he had sex. When he is angry, he has sex. When he is broke he had sex. Whatever that happens to upset his emotional and mental balance would only land him into more sex.

So he stayed not a single day without having sex. What a life? Well am not a man and I don’t mean to slight anyone. But this is not surely the kind of live someone would love to lead. Talk less of when you have no control over it. I’ve also seen ladies who are addicted to sex.

I also heard a first hand story of another man who was addicted to masturbation. I talked about how he masturbated in every place possible and even at work. When the urge comes upon him, he looks for any available place to masturbate and even in open streets corners.

He lamented that he was ruined by masturbation. He couldn’t keep a job or even a relationship. Another man told the story of how he was addicted to smoking cannabis for 22years. He said he spent £20 everyday on smoking.

When it was calculated in my local currency it amounted to 306,000,000 million naira. Calculate twenty pounds for 22 years and check much it would be in dollars. Thank God these when were delivered from the power of addiction. Addiction is expensive.
