you have to make a hive signer account which is yes another fucking account, for a service that holds your keys.. like keychain... but yeah hive vote is the only website that still uses hive signer but if you can get in there and figure out how to follow the curation trail of "steemskate" you are a haxor. you can also follow "fanbase" of individual users which makes your account automatically upvote their content in case you miss it
