Weekend Engagement - Returning After A Break To Reflect

What three words define your life so far and why? Explain each one. Are you content with it or would you make changes?

Finally back after a relatively long 3 week break from Hive, and it's fun again to engage the Hive community once again. Had some thoughts from my break and vacation but I will pen them in another entry.

Back to the prompt for this week, I realised I do like to write personal stuff or reflect stuff about myself, and the choice this weekend didn't require any hesitation. It's actually not easy to finalise on three words that define my life so far, and it probably differs depends which stage of my life I am in. So with me being in my late 30s, here goes!

Disciplined

I feel that being disciplined has been a cornerstone of my life. Be it studies, be it work, or just my personal goals. I have largely been disciplined in ensuring that I follow through with my plans and targets and giving my best in everything I do. That said, I do recognise that I cannot be disciplined 100% of the time, and there's always a portion when it's okay to cut some slack on myself and just have some fun in life.

Statistical

Some of you would probably read before that I am a stats lover. I like crunching numbers and analysing data, anything from financial markets to my step counts to even Splinterlands strategies, you get what I mean. I had a keen interest in mathematics at a young age, and it led me to be exposed to Statistics in high school and subsequently I majored in Statistics during my undergraduate studies. Being sensitive to numbers has helped me a lot, particularly when managing my finances, and it definitely goes a long way in my life, especially during the adult stage.

Open-Minded

I am not sure about people around me, but I think I am quite open-minded compared to most people. I am able to accept (doesn't mean I agree) many things that are unconventional or just different. It can be differing opinions, or different lifestyles and mindsets, I think everyone is entitled to have their own views and live their life in whichever they want, and who am I to judge them or dictate what's wrong and what's right? It might sound logical, but in this polarised world, I realise more and more people are more fixated in their own view and are not as accepting to fresh ideas. Cryptocurrency is an example.

Onto the final point, I am not sure if I should be contented with these words and if I should make any changes. People change and I will change as well. The 10 years ago self was very different from 5 years ago self, and the 5 years ago self was very different from who I am currently now. Not so much in a good or bad way, but we are just shaped by our life experiences (which we sometimes have no control), and hopefully we continue to become a better version of ourselves everyday.

Ending off with a photo that I had taken during my recent trip. Any guesses (without using AI/Google) as to which city was it? It was a pleasure encounter because we saw people climbing the hill while we were strolling along the streets, and being curious, we decided to follow them as well. And what greeted us was this amazing view, and it was totally unexpected for me. And it just goes back to the point of me being open-minded (to try out new stuff and explore places) and being disciplined (to follow through the climb even though there was a lot of steps up the hills!).
