Do you think you're more intelligent than others and if so why?
Haha this is such a tricky prompt to take on, but I shall take up the challenge! I think the tricky part is, if I were to say yes, I might come across as being proud or arrogant? But if I were to say no, will people think I am fake or just being politically correct? Or maybe I am just overthinking (as I always do)? Hahaha.
Perhaps to reframe this prompt from another perspective, I would say I think I am more intelligent than others (referring to the average population) in some areas, but I am less intelligent than others in some areas, because we all have our personal strengths and weaknesses.
Mathematics
I am quite confident to say that I am quite good with numbers and mathematics, or following the prompt, more intelligent than others in this aspect. I am very sensitive to numbers, very passionate with statistics (I did my undergraduate in Statistics), and am good at looking at data, trends, and relatively good with mental sums (even though a calculation does the same anyway haha).
Attention To Detail
If you would ask most of my friends or co-workers to describe me, the most common word would be "meticulous". In my life, I have just been like that and it was until I grew up, I realised it's not a skill that everyone has. Everyone has different personalities and different attributes, and there are people who can be careless and overlook stuff easily. I have a keen eye for detail and there are some occupations that value people who have attention to detail, and I think I would do well than the average person on this.
Socialising
I am bad at socialising because I am just too introverted. If I were judged by extroverts, they probably won't see me as someone who is intelligent. Because I don't share or don't talk much, people don't know much about me, and hence there don't know what I am good at (or bad at). As such, I am easily forgettable when it comes opportunities or even promotions (speaking from real life experience, oh well), as superiors don't think I am capable enough versus people who are more vocal. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to this, but I am happy and comfortable being who I am, and I feel the important people around me would accept me for who I am as well.
Running A Business
I am quite sure I don't have a good business acumen. I just feel that I am not cut out to be an entrepreneur or be comfortable in the unknown or giving up my salaried office job for the risk of unstable income. I also don't have the people's skills (also related to the point above about socialising) and I tend to overthink and am not bold enough to take risks and charge ahead. I am also not a creative person, and I am not the best person to ask when you want to "think out of box" because I like the tried and tested route most of the time. So hypothetically, if I were to run a business, and it would fail miserably and I would look not so intelligent. Haha.
Alright that's all I have this week! As always, sharing a photo - this was taken during a catch up with an intelligent friend (lol!) whom I have not met for quite some time. Always fun to catch up with friends over some good coffee! Can you guess which drink was mine? :P
P.S. In case you are wondering on the bottom left wordings in the photo, it's auto labelled whenever I used Samsung Galaxy AI to edit the photos. I edited out a QR code on the table or people might be able to place orders. Lol.
Nice share bro

Exactly. I think many people can be considered intelligent in some areas and not in others, although there are many exceptions 🤐
And when it comes to friends, if you're intelligent, you'll probably also want intelligent friends 😏
Nicely put! Agree with you too! Thanks for dropping by!
