Weekend Engagement - If This Is Boring, I’m Okay with It

Are you boring and uninspiring? Explain why giving specific examples.

To most people, I am a boring and probably uninspiring person.

I probably have shared this many times, I am very introverted. So this means I generally am quieter than others, and I don't like participating in unnecessary group gatherings and making "meaningless" small talk with people. And since I am always "missing in action", most people don't know me well (I don't think that's a bad thing actually) and they naturally would form this impression of me.

This is something that I gradually realise in the recent years, my hobbies and interests are very different from most people. People around me at my age are probably raising kids and their conversations generally revolve around their kids. And since I don't have kids, I am not really interested. As for myself, my hobbies and interests broadly include stuff that are financial in nature, which can range from financial news, the stock and crypto markets, and you can even include writing and posting on Hive as well. I find it very meaningful and satisfying to be able to manage my finances well, and to expose myself to new ideas (e.g. cryptocurrency) and learn new stuff. And to be honest, not many people have such hobbies or interests, and that's okay. I just need to find my own community, and that's how I landed on Hive.

And on a personal level, I actually enjoy a peaceful and routine lifestyle. In some way, this is perceived to be "boring" and "uninspiring" because I don't really seek out for excitement or drama in my life. I am perfectly okay to do the same things week in and week out, for example, I have fixed days every week where I set aside to go the gym for exercise, as well as to spend time with my loved ones, as well as to do my chores in the house. I understand not everyone is like that, but I find that having a structure cuts down on decision fatigue and my mind can be spent focusing on more meaningful stuff or reflecting on more deeper stuff about life.

To sum up, for me, I am currently focused on spending quality time with my loved ones, building my finances for the future, and taking care of my health. And these are my "North Stars" in my life. And if this means I have a boring and uninspiring life, that's okay. I am easily contented and am able to find my happiness in simple pleasures in life.

Ending up with a cute little ice bear drink! It's actually ice lemon tea, and the drink included an bear shaped ice, which I thought was quite cute (although it took a longer than expected to melt lol).
