Gotta Paint 'Em All!

I am never good at art, but my friend actually introduced to an interesting activity recently, which was to do painting on a tumbler. I read the description, they said we didn't have to bring or prepare anything, so I thought why not give it a shot?

So we booked a slot, and over the weekend, we headed over to begin our 2 hour session.

First, we had to choose our tumbler and I just went with one which didn't have too bright colours. Next, we have to clean the tumbler surface, before the fun part begins.

We could choose our images that we want to paint on the tumbler. They have many stencils from letters to Labubus to soccer clubs, but as you can see from profile picture, I went for Pokemon instead! From the stash, I managed to find what looked like Snorlax and Mewtwo!

I chose Snorlax because it's my favourite Pokemon. Haha. It's just too cute. As for the second one, between the popular Pikachu and the powerful Mewtwo, I went for the latter because it looked so cool. So we had to carefully stick the stencils on the tumbler.

Then the painting began! Snorlax was very easy because there were just 3 colours and their respective areas were very distinct. But Mewtwo was bigger and more challenging. Even though it was 3 colours, I had to be careful at the overlapping areas, but there was no room for error I think. And after 45 minutes of hard work, I finally completed! And it looked like this!

And then the staff helped us to dry the paint before we peeled off the stencil and there you have it! My finished product! Not the best outcome I know, but I tried! I think from far, it looked better, and it's only the close up photos where one can tell the little bits of uneven painting.

Overall, it was quite fun. People say painting can be therapeutic and after this session, I think it's quite true. One really has to be calm and have patience during painting. I still don't think I am good at this, but not everything in life has to be judged based on output. More importantly, it's an unique experience and I had fun, and I brought home a tumbler!

What do you think of my painting? :P
