This weekend, our family gathered to honor the memory of our beloved friend, Mark.
Mark was deaf, but his laughter is one of our favorite memories of him.
As we gathered, we recalled his adventurous spirit, his love for the vibrant colors of sunsets, and how he taught us to appreciate the little moments in life.
Laughter mingled with tears as we reflected on the joy he brought into our lives.
As we spoke, we also acknowledged the tragedy that took Mark away from us too soon.
Mark had loved the ocean, but nature can be unpredictable.
And despite everyone's best efforts to save him, he was swept away.
The air was heavy with sorrow as we stepped out of the funeral wake.
Mark had meant so much to us, and it was hard to believe he was really gone.
After a moment, we decided to head to the nearby Pioduran Port, close to Mark's home.
It was a nearby spot Mark loved, where we had spent countless afternoons together, laughing by the water.
The atmosphere here felt different from the funeral wake.
It was alive with the sounds of the waves lapping against the dock and the distant laughter of families enjoying themselves.
We inhale the salty air.
As we gathered, we captured the perfect moments on camera.
While Aiden and his lolo are pointing out the boats, I called out, raised my camera, and then snapped a photo.
It was a snapshot of love that we all wanted to cherish.
As the day wore on, we explored the quaint little shops along the port, tasting delicious local snacks.
Though it's simple, it brings warmth to our somber day.
After that, we packed up to head home.
Until our next adventure... Buh-bye. 👋🫶
