Look at Google Trends. The retail investors are not even into this market at the moment. What we are seeing is an effect of few institutional players + cryptocurrency veterans moving the market. It is possible that the problem with retail is a lack of funds to invest. M2 will have to expand to see a change in this IMHO.

It is possible. Crypto hasn't gone through a cycle concomitant with an economic downhill movement.
