Welcome to my 173rd Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update! Last week went pretty well I'd say, though I did have to adapt to another major change to my income from yet another layer-2 project, the LOLZ Project, in which I've been notably invested for most of my time on Hive. More about that shortly.

On a positive note, I crossed the threshold of 13,700 HP last Monday, and I will easily surpass 13,800 Hive Power before the end of this week. I also claimed 6.637 HBD in Savings interest 3 days ago, which pushed me to close to 550 HBD in Savings. While I do still have a fair way to go to reach my year-end goals for HP and HBD in Savings, I'm now in the home stretch for Reputation, and I should easily achieve that goal in just 2 to 3 weeks.

I'd say that it's just about time to hop into taking a look at the numbers, to see how I did over the past week. Tallyho we go!

Last week I gained +89.403 Hive Power, +8.457 HBD in Savings, and +0.03 Reputation points, which means that I still have 1,237.662 HP, 51.003 HBD in Savings, and 0.09 Reputation points to go to reach my year-end goals. Achieving my year-end goals for HP and HBD in Savings is going to be close, and both may need a small boost to do so. We shall see. My Reputation goal should be easily achieved, thankfully.

In terms of my HiveBuzz rankings, I inched up +4 places for HP, I jumped up +12 places for HBD in Savings, and I leaped up +16 places for Reputations, so not bad at all, and all positive numbers. It's quite rare to see my ranking for HBD in Savings surpass that of HP, and it's all from claiming 6.6 HBD in Savings interest.

So the LOLZ Pro announced that all farming rewards, both for HP and all layer-2 tokens, will end by the end of September, that new tipping tiers would be implemented, and that if the LOLZ Project is brought to an end in 2028, that 50% of HBD in Savings would be distributed to the top 125 holders and stakers of LOLZ and FUN, with assets in diesel/liquidity pools also being included in the tally. While I understand the reasoning behind these decisions, from my perspective it will cause most people far from the top 125 to sell their holdings, and many people within the top 125, or close to it, to buy as much as they're able, to boost their ranking. It kind of leaves project supporters outside of the top 125 out in the cold. Since I'm 9th on the LOLZ richlist, with just over 50,000 LOLZ, selling my holdings would not likely be a very good idea at this time. By October 1st, I will no longer be actively focused on acquiring more LOLZ, all delegations will be removed, and other than my LOLZ and FUN stake and holdings in diesel/liquidity pools, I will no longer be investing in the LOLZ Project.

Investing in layer 2 is a constant juggling act with the frequent changes that so often occur, and it's not at all for casual investors or the faint of heart, because it's important to know the people and the projects in which we're investing well, and to make periodic adjustments when necessary. While I've gotten pretty good at it in my 4 years of investing on Hive, some things still throw me for a loop with how much they affect my daily operations and achieving my goals. I'll still continue into invest in layer-2 projects, just with ever-greater discernment.
