In my country, coins and banknotes have rarely been in circulation for more than 20 to 30 years. If you find some older money, you can throw it away. They're usually worthless.

Silver coins were rarely in circulation until 1938. After that, silver was used only in commemorative coins.
Monetary reforms, i.e. the abolition of the validity of existing money, took place in our country in 1939, 1945, 1953, 1992 ...
