Yes bonfire night or more correctly Guy Fawkes night is 5th of November. As it falls on a Saturday this year I am sure there will be some tasty bonfires and fireworks.

I find it ironic that we celebrate failure in the UK with such gusto. Some of you might know of Guy Fawkes without knowing. The masks that anonymous wear are called Guy Fawkes.
If you didn't know he was the leader of the foiled gunpowder plot by some Catholics to blow up the Houses Of Paliament in London in 1605 and assassinate the king James.
As a kid, I used to go guysing, you make an effigy of Guy Fawkes, dress him up, put him in a wheelbarrow, and go wheeling him around with a bucket.
Penny for A Guy is what it used to be called. Now of course, the commercialism of America has won and it is all about Halloween and Trick or Treat and more plastic crap to end up in the landfills or worse still the oceans and fnck the wildlife and planet.
Rant over, but speaking of fire, I will need to be on fire in November, I shall tell you why in a wee bit but first ... Power Up time!
Today I powered up 10 HIVE, this is the 11th consecutive month that I have participated in Hive Power Up Day, suffice to say I am pretty chuffed about that!
My power Up gave me this total.
I now am on 2245 HP, considering I started my first hivePUD in January with 11HP this is massive for me!
Onwards and upwards people and power up baby!

This November is the 15th anniversary of @epodcaster's NaPodPoMo and the second year on Hive.

I see many of you routinely post your #hivepud post on LeoFinance, which is cool as the LeoVerse is afterall finance based.
But why not stay there a while, and go into #threads and make a #thread post about your #hivepud post?
You never know, you might get some LEO rewards, and of course don't forget that the #lpud Leo Power Up Day is the 15th of the month and is another example of how you can grow your account and keep the LEO and HIVE ecosystems healthy and growing too!
It is great fun and gets you more engagement, and Hive is all about engagement right?

I have been powering up since January too. And this morning, I did it again. I'll be putting up my posts soon. I am excitedly awaiting #lpud. I can't miss that for anything.
You made me feel bad about how humans will be filing everywhere with waste and making the ecosystem less conducive for your animal friends
All in all, I think I'll be a part of #HiveBloPoMo. Wait... I just thought of something. I could use this as a motivating factor to make my other account more active. What do you think? Great idea right? 😉

You can. You just need to make normal posts everyday and add the tags till November is over.
But you first have to show interest on the first day, being today, by putting a post declaring your participation.

It is easy for you Merit, just add the #HiveBloPoMo as a tag to your daily post and that is it, there is no prize as such, just the daily pride in posting, which for me is good as I don't post daily and will find it a challenge to do!
Oh yes there is also a community with same name that you can visit should you wish, and help motivate others...

Here is an idea from me ... I want my other account to be active too, actually I want me to post daily from this one as well.
How about we become #HiveBloPoMo buddies and make sure we post on both our alt accounts and mains too.. What do you think? Check up on each other in discord? I know I need a push and would be great knowing I have someone watching and I can help you too with some motivation...

Guy Fawkes is just around the corner indeed. I remember in NZ, they play fireworks, do bonfires and drink booze during that day/night. I haven't seen anyone wear a mask though :)

Guy Fawkes would be almost wholly unknown in the US without the blockbuster film V for Vendetta. I think the masks were chosen by Anonymous as a nod to V more than to Fawkes himself.
Oh yes I am sure it was totally the film where the got the idea from. I have never seen the film, so have no idea, it is on my watchlist though.
