Today, I just confirmed with three of my closest friends that we are going to be able to move to Philadelphia in February. We admittedly spent very little time looking at places to move to and are probably paying a lot too much for the house that we will be renting, but regardless we will be doing it.
The most difficult part of this process so far has been seeking out a job that I could work in Philadelphia. As it would turn out, having a college degree is simply not enough to get you a job anymore in a lot of sectors. You also need X number of years of experience, which is a ridiculous request for someone just entering the job market, whatever age that may be.
I was able to get one interview with a legal services company and hopefully that will go well as it is the first lead that I've secured off of my applications (probably around 35-40 apps submitted). I'm not trying to get rich guys, I just want to pay rent to live with my friends, please answer my job applications...
I am hopeful that things will come together, but this process illustrates how difficult it actually is sometimes to create change in life and get going in a new direction. I know that my overall goal is to get into a law school for the fall semester (also haven't heard back on any of that yet, everything moves so slowly in this world), so it isn't a massive concern what type of work I am doing until then as long as it pays enough to afford my plans over the next few months.
I am determined to continue getting articles and content out there on Hive because this has become my source of investment income as of now. The job that I will work will be for the purpose of paying rent and other expenses and hopefully there will be something left over to invest, but the earnings that I generate here on Hive will be what I use to try to build my savings and portfolio. I think that this is a pretty cool way to use the time that I would consider "hobby time" and generate some funds as a result of doing something that I like.
Hopefully within the next few days, I can write a little post about a new office job I got in center city Philly, but for now, this post is more me screaming into the void that things are taking forever in life. I will try my best to be patient... I wish the best for all of you if you are to take on a similar challenge!

A college degree isn't really all that it is made out to be. Good luck finding a job and I hope everything goes well.
