Five Ways To Increase Hive Power
About a week ago I wrote a post named Remove Delegations: HIVE/BTC USD Value which discussed how to remove HIVE Power delegations. My goal was to show how easy it was to do such an action and to also motivate myself to increase my Hive Power. This current post is designed to do the same; motivate myself (and hopefully others) to increase Hive Power. So far I have removed a delegation that will roughly increase my current HP by 12%. That isn't nearly enough though because once you start down the road of wanting more HP its hard to pump the breaks. To be fair its a nice road to be on as with each additional HP one possesses the more influence one has within the Hive Blockchain. The question now becomes what else can we do to increase our Hive Power. Luckily the Hive Blockchain provides us with much opportunity to earn. Not only HIVE but HBD and other Hive Community Tokens as well. Of course there is always the option of trading other currencies for HIVE & Hive Power such as our forever depreciating Fiat (Yuck Fiat, that's a dirty word!). Lets dig into the meat and potatoes on how to earn more Hive Power right here on the Hive Blockchain.
(1) Creating Content
The most obvious way is to create content. Get your thinking cap on and create a post. Once your post is created and you hit that publish button your work isn't done yet. Networking is just as important as your post creation skills. Seek out like minded posts, comment/vote or otherwise interact with content that interest you. After-all if you want people to interact with your content it would be reasonable to expect the same of oneself (interact with the content of others).
(2) Community Tokens
There is a wide range of second layer tokens on the Hive Blockchain and they can be traded for HIVE (using TribalDex) or stacked. When creating your content make sure you are using the correct tags. For example if you are posting about cryptocurrency some favorable tags would be #crypto and #cryptocurrency. One such example of a community on hive is INLEO (LeoFinance) and when using the #inleo tag one can earn LEO Tokens along side HIVE and HBD. When it comes to second layer tokens LEO is one the more actively traded ones. Meaning if your goal is to turn your LEO Tokens into Hive Power you can do just that on TribalDex.
(3) Gaming (Lots Of Gaming)
Hive is leading the way with Play2Earn gaming. Splinterlands kickstarted the craze and many others (To name a few; Soulkeep, Holozing, CryptoShots) are helping to maintain and skyrocket Play2Earn gaming to the moon. There are endless amount of ways to earn rewards with games such as Splinterlands on the Hive Blockchain. In turn you can stack those rewards or trade them for HIVE / Hive Power. So many possibilities.
(4) Market Trading
The Hive Blockchain has its own market in-which those who frequent the HIVE Blockchain can trade their HBD for HIVE Tokens. The link to enter the market can be found in your wallet section. Simply click the drop down menu located next to your HBD holdings and you are off to the races. After clicking the drop down menu>market a new screen will popup that will display a market where you can trade your HBD for HIVE Tokens which of course can be turned into Hive Power. You can also trade your HIVE for HBD in that same market. Its as easy as a click or three.
(5) Curation (Use Your Vote)
The Hive Blockchain has a 50/50 reward split on created content. Meaning the author of the created content located on the Hive Blockchain will earn 50% of the Hive/HBD their content generates. The other 50% go to curators (those who voted the post). One's share amount of the curation rewards earned with voted on content depends on numerous things such as your vote power, vote percentage and Hive Power. These same rules apply to comments. As you can see it pays to stack and interact here on the Hive Blockchain.
There you have it folks; five ways to increase your Hive Power/ Earn Rewards right here on the Hive Blockchain (I bet you can't do that with your Twitter (X) or Facebook posts). Of course the easiest method to increase one's Hive Tokens / Hive Power is the way first mentioned in our opening paragraph. Trade that spare Fiat that is burning a whole in your pocket for some cryptocurrency and work your magic on any given exchange / Dex that allows you to do so until you end up with the the currency / Token you want, HIVE POWER. Those are some simple and easy ways to increase your HivePower... Speaking of 2) and 3) from your list, I remember when I was doing things the opposite way... I was pushing up my tribe tokens' power, while their value was going down... The result, my HivePower was stagnating... When I began doing the opposite, the HivePower exploded!!!
Agree with all your points... The most important is this:
It is so obvious, but many times, people would like to get everything and give nothing...

Thanks for the feature and curation support. I think many did the same as you did with the tribe tokens. If the masses figure out HIVE is the place to be some of the tribe/community tokens that sizzled out might see a resurrection in popularity.
The general idea of tribe tokens isn't bad at all... I think that many tribe owners had no idea how to use it responsibly, and had no idea how to approach, promote their tribes, etc. But, as time passes, and many experimenting, it is impossible to see some "resurrections"...

But I will very shortly be delegating my HP to start earning LEO tokens.
Creating content - Most creative
Community tokens - Most social
Gaming - Most fun
Market trading - Most intense
Curation - Most relaxing
I like & agree with your list assessment. I have delegated some to the Inleo community for the exact same reason as you are going to. Out of all the created frontends / community tokens I think the LEO Token is the best bet to be a success.
Content and curation for me 👍 Games is a drain for me haha I use all my earnings from content and curation to buy things in games 🤦
Not a bad option, you get entertainment and earning potential from the games.
Participate in challenges held in a community if you don't have ideas for content creation. By participating, you can increase your earnings and have the opportunity to win prizes.
Absolutely, that's a great way to earn some Hive Tokens.
Hive is unique in that you can do both 1) and 3) on the same platform. You can play games while at the same time creating content about the game and earning from that as well, all in the same convenient ecosystem.
There is no shortage of ways to earn that's for sure.
I would also add liquidity pools, which are a lucrative and interesting way to do it. You also learn about other chains that are more complicated or have higher fees.
Liquidity Pools is yet another way to earn on Hive. Thanks for pointing that out. I would only add that if someone is new to Hive, Cryptocurrency or Liquidity Pools that they do a little research on how Liquidity Pools work before jumping in.
Gaming is rather a way to reduce HP. The principle of a game is to make money - for the game designer! Only a minority of players can earn more than they invest.
One real way to increase HP instead is to run a witness node and get ranked to app. less than 80.
I have thought about running a witness node for awhile.
At some point I imagine I will dig in and do just that.
