Why XPolyCUB and Breaking the Rules

I wasn't too active in the past 7 days here on the HIVE as I was deep into Polycub... I was preparing myself (and my finances) for the launch for the last 2-3 months and when it was launched, I did almost completely different than I have planned...

But, I'm glad that I got there in the first minutes after the launch... I had a couple of "rules" before it launched, and of course, almost all of them were broken... lol...

As Polycub isn't an ordinary DeFi 1.0, it was hard to predict how it will develop on the first day and especially in the continuation... At this moment, we are getting into WEEK 2, and rewards per block are lowered from 5 to 4 PolyCUBs...

So, when I was planning my moves, I was looking into it like DeFi 1.0, but hoping that it will be something more... I had 3 rules:

Avoid getting into any PolyCUB paired farm or Kingdom

Invest only tokens that I have prepared specially for this

Cashout part of the earning daily

So, let's go through all of these rules by starting from Rule No2... I have invested what I have planned, but I have added a bit more... lol... RULE BROKEN

The rule No1 was actually something that I'm glad that I have broken... It was the first hours of the launch and I was poking around on Discord where people were asking how the heck is this xPolyCUB worked? One guy said that he staked there and got 7% fewer tokens than he has paid! That was worrying, but after just a minute he withdraw that and got +7% tokens... OK... The game isn't rigged... phew... It works like that!

Just a reminder, in those hours, the xPolyCUB page didn't look as it looks now... It had only data that you can see now in the first rectangle... After an hour or two, Khal said in the Discord that the APY that is shown in the xPolyCUB staking page shows ONLY the math from the CUB inflation pool, WITHOUT added tokens from penalties!

That was the trigger that clicked in my head and all my future earnings, from that point forward, went into staking! Why? Well, for example, at this moment APY there is 1388%, and APY in PolyCUB farms is around 2070%...

Firstly, the first number DOESN'T have penalties (xPolyCUB staking) and the second one (PolyCUB farms) has a 50% penalty for early claim harvest... So, the easy math says that you will earn 353% more with staking!

Secondly, on top of earning more from CUB inflation in xPolyCUB staking, you receive PolyCUB tokens from early harvesting penalties from other pools! That was a significant number in the first week, and it will be in the second probably... Later on, as block rewards are lower, it will get down... So, you receive BONUS PolyCUBs that are "penalty-free"!

And thirdly, as you are staking ONLY 1 asset (PolyCUB), you aren't exposed to the impermanent losses like you are in the paired token pools...

So, that's that... Those are my reasons for getting into xPolyCUB staking heavily and I didn't have that in the plan at all! I'm glad that I have broken my first rule!

And the rule No3 was a bit loose... I broke that one too as I was reinvesting all my earnings in the first 2 to 3 days, but now, I'm doing a small cashout... Just for the sake of keeping my word... :)

I hope that I will have time in the next few days to create more content about PolyCUB as there is a lot of things to talk about and cover... Searching a bottom price, or better said, the famous "price flipping", what to expect after a couple of months, moving funds through different farms, etc...

These are my observations and opinions about Polycub and I can be wrong... This is not financial advice or such... DYOR and make your own decisions...

It looks like your plan didn't go as you expected but at least you will learn from it. I still think I might start yield farming next time the platform starts but I will probably be taking profits early and regularly.

My plan didn't develop as I thought, but it did better than I think... Like I said in the post, I'm happy that I didn't stick to the plan :)
Taking early profits is crucial for the "rest of DeFi" platforms, but with LEOFinance stuff, it can be different... and it was different...

I did not have any rule but I planned on investing and then take out profit but after investing I saw how the platform was built and how well it going I decided to leave me investing. Right now I want to invest more.

Nice.. I made a reverse strategy.. I got into USDC-polycub pool by buying polycub..
I learnt "imperament" loss now perfectly and now will be better equipped for next defi platform.

Well, the impermanent loss isn't the worst thing... If you take more profits than losses, you are still good... It's all just a matter of mathematics... :)
But, in any case, I suppose that you still WON with Polycub? Especially if you got early, and don't forget, this is not the end... ;)

Nopes, With Poly cub price touching bottom that position is still on 50% loss. Otherwise it is 60% erosion.
Not worrying , I am going to sleep long on this position.
Other lesson , that is now reaffirmed why "do not put all egg in one basket" but in long term even if polycub goes to $2 , I will be in profit. I will wait patiently now and hopefully patience will pay big.

I’ve broken most of my rules too, I kept buying Polycub and usdc, ofcourse I also staked Polycub a lot of it,....

I did a similar mistake on some other Defi, but when you do it on PolyCUB, it's not a "mistake", it's a long-term vision... It will eventually, pay out... ;)

I will continue with pulling out 1/3 of my daily profits... Have no idea if that is smart or not, but that's my choice :) And I didn't touch my initial investment at all as I'm here for a long term... ;)
