Yesterday, I was in a walk with a friend and we had a fantastic talk about different topics, not too much about crypto... But, there is always a connection... 🙂 Somehow, we got into the topic of different European countries and how some were "luckier" than others after WW2... As the conversation was in Spanish, I had trouble translating a specific English word... Underdog... Let me help you out with a definition if you are not a native English speaker...
A competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest.
"We go into this game as the underdogs"
a person who has little status in society.
"What is it like to be an underdog in America?"
Source: Google.com
Why did that word come up at all? During the walk, we met a guy from Poland who has lived in Spain for 20 years and he shared some of his views about the EU and migrations to it... As I lived in a country close to Poland, I found myself in his words... It was easier to connect with him, to understand, than it is to some Spaniards, for example... After WW2, almost the whole of Central and Eastern Europe was under the USSR's influence, and that wasn't a good thing... Because of that, most countries that were at least at the same level (some even wealthier) as others in Europe, dropped to the level of 3rd world countries (no offense)...
All that created a big split in our way of thinking, which made big differences between Eastern and Western Europe... Those from the Eastern part became underdogs... If you were coming from there, to succeed, you had to make 10 times more effort than your colleagues in the West... On one side, that's not bad as you invest more effort, and more thought processes, you are more cautious and responsible... On the other side, it creates hatred and anguish toward others with better living/business conditions... It makes no sense, but we do compare each other and sometimes, we are angry at others because we didn't get the same chances... A lot of times, life isn't fair...
After all that brainwashing, it's hard to get out of it... It's like being in a sect where leader(s) are poisoning your brain with wrong ideas... Eventually, they succeed, and people give up... At other times, the only solution is to escape out of the brainwashing machine... It's hard to think when you are IN THE MACHINE... And then... When you are out, it's hard to find faith in other humans, it's hard to do the right thing... Like in the The Shawshank Redemption, when Red came out of jail after 40 years... He couldn't fit in...
We had a talk about a similar topic in one of the #HHHLive shows when we mentioned Latin America, and Africa, and ask ourselves why crypto was more used (and adopted) than in other places... I suppose that the answer could be in the "underdog mentality"... They have to invest more time, more energy, and sometimes, people don't have a choice, and they have to EXPERIMENT... Embrace new things faster, getting more value as early birds, but taking more risks...
Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...
This week we have mined 103 BEE tokens in total!!!...
This week we didn't have new delegators, but we did get more delegations from our old members... Thanks guys! Appreciate your support!
This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!
What about the bonus tokens?
Let's go back to the roots and to one of the first games on HIVE, Splinterlands... It's great to see that the game still attracts many gamers and there is still innovation and new things added to it... As it is massively played among Hivians, I like to give away the SPS tokens as a bonus as I know it would come in handy to many of you...
There will be distributed 340 SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!
As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... 103 BEE tokens and 340 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 8.034%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 9.716%!
I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...
Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...
If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!
.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!
You can find more about this pool in the initial post here https://inleo.io/hive-119826/@ph1102/workerbee-p-h-ool-let-s-help-each-other

I always tend to think in crypto we arent the underdog anymore because we are all in for so long already, also thanks to hive. On the other hand....I like the idea of being the underdog as crypto female because i like the tech and want to know about it.
Yeah..the female crypto underdog. 'There will be signs....' :)
Hehehe... I like it... The Female Crypto Underdog! 💪
Btw. it's not all bad things to be an underdog... People don't expect too much from you, so if you do even fairly well, it would be like a huge success... 😃
On a more serious note... I have noticed that through talking with other people, many say similar to you "we arent the underdog anymore because we are all in for so long already"...
I don't say that you aren't or are, but saying that when we say "WE" that's not always 100% true... It's more like 10% true... You know those bearish days when we were here hustling... well... "We" were not many...
Darn, I overcomplicated the comment... Speaking of YOU and I, WE are so long in this... that's for sure... 😃
All I can say is that an "underdog" would be much more ready for the challenges of life 😉
With that, I can agree, but the underdog has a lack of some other experiences... It's not all black or white...
For now I consider crypto underdog, most of the big world doesn't really use it, it's a niche, it will be interesting to see how it turns out... For sure EU and central banks will go against crypto because crypto is freedom, they can't check your balanced, freeze your bank account if you have all crypto... But governments like to do brainwashing even on this and make average people think crypto=scam
Yes, that was happening a lot in the past and the main "strategy" was to make crypto look good... As crypto persistent and survived, they had to "embrace" it in some way, and "change the story"... That's why we can see now that BTC is OK, but some other token isn't... Especially when someone mentions privacy tokens... they are like a cancer for banks... lol... 😃
It's a dog eat dog out there, what I did is reflect back in the past play a scenario where I can change the outcome. After doing that I need to learn from that and apply it in the present. It is easy at it sounds but it's difficult that is why people get trapped and revert back to the way they were. Woooo SPS thank you!
You are right. Even if/when you turn in the right direction and change the outcome, many fail at the next step and fall back into their "comfort zone." Not many succeed in ANY job, business, or life...
It sucks to be the one who "doesn't fit", who is different from others... But, when we understand that only 5% succeed, being different is easier to accept... 😃
It's definitely the latter, make an additional step and continue to level up. I think going back to the previous state doesn't do much good, and you tend to feel that you're at the wrong environment/state. In a way, crypto itself can be viewed as an underdog against the established system.
Crypto is definitely an underdog, and it was like that for a long time... Maybe it's a bit better recently, but we still have a long way to go... 😉
Yes, I think we're steadily gaining ground but I'm not very sure nowadays that crypto will eventually replace much of the established financial system. That said, I'm definitely okay seeing it as a parallel system in its own right and might :)

Agree that underdogs always need to take more risks because in a way they have lesser to lose, whereas the ones in lead have more to lose and tend to be more risk averse. But of course, there are always exceptions. I don't consider myself an underdog in my society since I am probably middle class, but somehow I find myself interested to explore these new ideas and innovation like cryptos (but most of my friends don't).
Thanks for the update and tokens!

I suppose you have been led by curiosity... which is another big motivator in life... ;)
It's hard to fight the bias that people have. It shapes a lot of our views. It's tough because both the winners and losers always have different views too.
Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/SPS tokens.
That's why some are winners, and others are losers... 😃
Nice. SPS as another coin. Someone is predicting that SPS will rise after Splinterland's new set release this year.

That would be nice to see... It was tanking for such a long time... 😒

Their attempts to intimidate and silence their critics are equally concerning. The use of downvotes as a means of censorship is a clear indication of their desperation to maintain their grip on the narrative. But it's not working

A Call to Action Against Downvote Abuse on Hive
Bad downvotes on Hive are a growing concern that must be addressed. These downvotes not only discourage users from sharing their real thoughts and ideas but also damage the community as a whole, we see many walk away

The Buildawhale farm scam has been a topic of concern for us, and we've exposed it. However, despite our attempts to bring attention to this issue, it seems that no concrete actions have been taken to address it. This lack of response is puzzling
Let's discuss a more serious issue that affects all on Hive. The prevalence of bad downvotes on Hive is a major concern, and we urge you to speak up if you've been affected by it. Don't be afraid to share your experiences speak up
