Recruiting Dolphins and Orcas! .:. #MyHiveGoals 2023
As it was a hugely positive experience for me, I have mentioned a couple of times my hanging out in the PIMP voice chat on Discord... As that wasn't just a monologue, many people were dropping lines in the chat, or giving great ideas in voice... One of them was a sentence from @ecoinstant that I memorized very well... He said something like this (maybe I added a bit on it 😃):
We need more Orcas and Dolphins on HIVE to move the power to the "middle class" on HIVE
Hive has only 37 whales, but those 37 whales have a huge "voting power" on HIVE, which means that if you want to "push" your proposal to DHF you have to have at least a few of those whales supporting you... I'm not saying that our HIVE whales are bad, I'm just saying the reality... Of course, having 37 whales is still better than having only 10, or 5, but you get the point... We need more POWER into the middle class on HIVE, more power to Dolphins and Orcas...

Why am I talking about this at all in this post? Well, one of my motives to begin with these #MyHiveGoals wasn't that I wanted to brag about how much HIVE do I have... The point was to gather people who were in a similar situation like me and to work together in spreading our voice out there... Is there a better way to STRONGER your voice on HIVE than growing your HIVE POWER?
I wasn't the first who started doing it, but that's completely irrelevant... The most important is that people are DOING it! People are powering up HIVE on #HivePUD, people are creating these #MyHiveGoals posts and following their progress... I was so happy to see in the newest post about the April 1st HivePUD many friends of mine among those who powered up over 1000 HIVE!
Another awesome thing to see today was a post by @imfarhad, where he was celebrating his Dolphin rank!!! Don't forget to check his post and celebrate with him!
Don't know what to say more, but... Guys, it works and you should try it too!
Back to #MyHiveGoals... In the beginning, let's check out HiveStats...

Yesterday we had a #HivePUD and I did the same thing as I was doing the previous 17 times in the past (I had to count that before writing)! This was my 18th 1K power-up in a row! I wasn't aware of that until now... It all started back in November 2021 when I did my first 1000 HIVE power-up! I had some ups and downs in the meantime, but somehow, I manage to keep the streak... I hope I will continue doing it for at least a couple of months more, but we will see... So far, so good!
In the last 7 days, I have accumulated 1178 HivePower, including that 1 K from the #HivePUD... Without it, I didn't reach my 200 HP per week goal, but I was close... Still keeping the pace more-less which is crucial for steady growth...
Regarding my LEO Power goal, I got a bit less than in the last report... In the last 7 days, I have added exactly 50 LEO tokens to my LEO Power... Not too much, but still going forward... The price of LEO tokens went down a bit more, so maybe I will do some purchases soon... Will see how it goes...
GAMING GOALS - Flexible Goals
The Rising Star card numbers are somehow off... I think I have opened 36 packs as usual, and I didn't sell any cards, except those that I have given away... But, I do that for a long time and those cards were calculated before... The "official" numbers are saying that I have 9820 cards in total, which is only 68 cards more than last week... This number should be around 100 cards more, but we will see what happens next week...
The same situation as with LEO, the price of the GLX tokens went down a bit more... That triggered some ideas of accumulating even more tokens, but I'm still doing the same strategy as before... The APR went down a bit, but it is still relatively high... Also, I have bought one of my first Genesis League Goals Packs through Hive-Engine and staked them too... I know that there is only two months more for staking packs, but the price was ridiculously low... I think that I bought them for around $2.5! If the game doesn't launch in the next 2 months, maybe some people will dump even more of these packs... Another great bargain for those who have the patience to wait for the launch...
In the last 7 days, I have accumulated a bit over 4500 tokens! It looks that staking those couple packs helped to keep the pace with a lower APR for staking GLX tokens... Nice!

Nice progress.
I started this year to write more about my goals each week and I think it has worked out quite well. I also moved up to being a Dolphin earlier this year so I think it's slowly moving. I agree that we need more of them though.

Thanks, man! I didn't have a choice but to push and be consistent... 😃 But, I can do better as I didn't publish consistently... Luckily, we have games and layer-2 projects that bring some income, too... :)

I agree that the middle class needs to grow on Hive (and in general).
Impressive that you had 18 consecutive 1k powerups! Congrats on your consistency.
Thanks! There is no progress in a society where 51% is held by a couple... We have tried centralization all the time throughout history... Maybe it's time to try decentralization...

Hehehe... I would say that in the middle class are all Hivers that are understanding what HIVE is and bringing value to the chain... If you want a more exact definition, I would say that Minnows, Dolphins, and Orcas would be middle class...

Cracking figures, I agree about the need for more whales orcas and dolphins. I like Hive don't get me wrong, but do think what's the point at times as a few here determine the path for the majority! So the more people that have bigger stashes the better I agree!
I love seeing what people (like you who have been here a long time across the two chains) say and do on Hive, it's always a motivation when I see shared goal numbers.

I will be blogging my way to that Dolphin status eventually. Not having the money to invest but I am busy on the Chain every day!
Beginning of 2022 I had 313HP. Today I have nearly 2500HP. Its a fair margin of growth.
5610HP or so shall see me join the ranks of the Dolphins!
The real hero of the story is YOU! It is almost 10x the amount that you had a year ago... That is huuuuuuge!
With this mentality, it shouldn't be an issue for you to reach a Dolphin rank in the next couple of months!

Taking it one day at a time and just keep posting across my various communities.
Its pretty cool also that I have been able to blog about my hobby. I have recently returned to Warhammer 40,000 after many years and I blog about my hobby to generate a "Hobby Fund". The HP stays in my account to power me up, just the HBD is for spending on my hobby... and then I post more about my hobby again. It's highly cyclic! 😂😂😂😂

Well, it is true that you are not the only one who writes article about his Hive goals. A lot of people do that and it is normal to me. It helps people like me to step up my game.

Agree that more dolphins and orcas are a big deal, but the decentralization of stake requires more users or more investors and many of them.
I do think Hive is handling the bear season well and hopefully during the next cycle we will see more activity

My bruises, from the stormy fork, seem to be well on the mend. At the time, most of my HIVE/STEEM was moved to ETH which has 5x'ed since then. It seems a good time to bring some of that profit back. Got to admit that being a Dolphin was satisfying. 😎
I was just ready to pass the Orca level, when the drama hit. I voiced being opposed to the softfork.. wow, what a reaction. You would have thought I was satan. :) Anyhow the drama and exaggerations of what I actually said were off putting for a while, but I still loved the idea and came back.
I powered down all my Steem and all but 10k of my Hive at the time. With the price of Bitcoin at the time I was able to get 1.3 ish Bitcoin.
I've long since gotten over any hard feelings and I just pop in and out when I feel like it these days. Recently posting has felt hard, but I rarely go more than a day or 2 without curating.
I do think we've had a good run now, can't wait to see what the next cycle brings. It's concerning that the off ramps in the US are so limiting now though.

Compared with the previous bear cycles, HIVE holds great... It was carnage last time, but I do agree with you on the decentralization part... We need more users, and we need more "dedicated" users... That's why I called out dolphins and orcas as in most cases, those are the people that "stayed" and dedicated their resources to the "cause"...
It's great to see more and more Minnows working on their "dolphin dream"... I know that it was a big deal for me to get there, but it was very satisfactory!

Thanks, Steve! Many coins are coming "into the zone"... If experienced users are attracted by the price of certain tokens, that could mean that we are very close to the bottom... But, I'm repeating my words over and over again... lol...
