I do poke around liquidity pools a lot... As diesel pools are pretty limited, I'm doing more things in concentrated pools on other blockchains... From my perspective, the good thing about them is that they are perfect for taking out profits, similar to your second explanation... It is a mix of "picking" the price, concentrating your LP around that price, and taking profits when you are out of range... 😃

The positives are, that if the price ranges a lot and doesn't go out of range, you earn transaction fees... If it goes out (in any direction), you DCA out or DCA in for a better price than you expected... 😃
