A Step Ahead - HBD APR at 20% .:. #MyHiveGoals 2022 Edition!
Before you start throwing stones at me, I would like to clarify things about the latest raise of the HBD savings APR to 20%. If you are following my posts, I have already mentioned a couple of times that it would be great that we see HBD APR at 15-20% as it's "today's standard" in the stable coins Cryptoverse... And doing something like this will attract a lot of attention from Defi people OUTSIDE the HIVE community (of course, inside too), and that could create a positive effect on the whole HIVE ecosystem! It's 20% integrated inside the blockchain, and not invested in some shady Defi platform, don't forget about that fact!
Now, back to #MyHiveGoals... Will I change my strategy and goal because of this huge change? I have some HBD in savings which I want to have for "black days", but I will not horde it just because of this 20%... For me, stable coins are one level more than fiat currency, and I'm not here because of FIAT currency... Unfortunately, we still need them for basic stuff, and that's exactly why I have them in my personal portfolio... As I said many times, stable coins are, and will always be, just a small percentage of my portfolio...
Imagine that banks "change the story" and offer you 20% on your USD/EUR savings... Would you jump back to your bank and invest all your wealth in that? Of course not... I know that HBD isn't the same as a bank, but the idea that it's pegged to USD makes it closer to fiat than crypto...

Also, there are additional incentives for my "sticking with HivePower"... Besides the power of upvoting, lifting, and helping others with my upvotes that, in some way will create HBD for them (what a twist!), I'm trying to think a bit a step further...
If the majority of people jump on the HBD train, the rest of us that will stick will #HivePower will have bigger curation rewards! Maybe because of that, in the next month or two, the price of HIVE will drop a bit, which is another great opportunity for getting more of them! Win-Win!
Mass adoption of crypto will not be like most of us thought in the beginning... We will not see a majority of people jumping and accumulating BTC, HIVE, TERRA, ETH, etc... They will horde stable coins, and low volatile crypto assets, as people don't like to risk... That's why we need both, HIVE and HBD, along with each other... To have the WHOLE STORY!
In the last #MyHiveGoals report, I have mentioned my concerns about 1K power-ups that I was doing in the last 5-6 #HivePUD's... The latest change that I have implemented should help me in reaching that 1K per month (which is still far away from my "needed" monthly tokens)... The solution was "easy" and breaking that 1K into smaller parts could help... So, I will try to follow my second layer income sources every 10 days and try to have 333 HIVE on my balance sheet...
So, the first goal, as today is the 10th, is to have at least 333 HIVE (or SWAP.HIVE) for future power-up... On the 20th, I should have 667, and at the end of the month, the needed 1K prepared for #HivePUD! I know that I don't have to be strict with this rule, but I think it's a nice, "small" step toward the ORCA dream...
You have probably heard about the news from the LeoFinance team regarding LEO Power... Just in short lines, the earnings from the ads at leofinance.io will be distributed among LEO stakers according to their stake! It looks like my accumulation of the LEO Power was a good move... I know that curation rewards sucked, but with this addition, it should work much better! I would suggest you check the newest post for more details about the LeoAds!
The WORKERBEE market is getting thinner and thinner every next week... People who are buying the tokens are usually staking them up and not re-selling, which means that we have fewer tokens on the market... As the WORKERBEE tokens are scarce, the price is slowly going up... I suppose that we will see some unstaking in the near future, as that higher price will be tempting for some... Not for me! I'm keeping mine staked!
I have mentioned in the last report that I have messed up my BEE POWER delegating all to another account... Well, the 7 day undelegation period has passed and they came back earning those curation rewards! So, the numbers will slowly go up...
GAMING GOALS
When I got into the routine of buying packs 3 times per week, the guys from the RISING STAR game add something juicy to distract me... The newest stuff out there is the Easter 2022 special mission that can bring some nice additional NFTs, which is a good thing... Also, the game celebrates its 2nd anniversary and there is an awesome Birthday Cake NFT! Don't miss to get that as it is super-useful... I have the one from the last year and using it on daily basis... Btw... Happy D-Day, Rising Star!!!
There is nothing special regarding my SPS token goal... I'm still pushing hard and staking most of my tokens... But, I do take part in the daily airdrop, convert to CREDITS, and buy summoners... Just to be updated with the newest ones, paving up my battling deck for possibly higher leagues...

That's the point! To keep them diversified as much as possible... Also, it's not an easy task to pick certain tokens at the beginning of the year and stick to them until the end... Sometimes, they don't last that much... hehehe... I had that case in the past years, so this year, I still think that I have chosen good ones... But, time will tell... There is a lot of time until the end of the year...

I really like the NFT goal for Hive gaming. It has been a while since the last time I upgraded my RisingStar assets to maximize the earnings. SPS, on the other hand, goes perfectly fine.

Indeed, so far so good! The Rising Star is definitely one of the biggest surprises for me... I mean, I liked the game from the moment I start playing it, but I have to be honest, I didn't think that it will go this far... I play Splinterlands for over 3 years, but if we deduct the SPS airdrop, I can freely say that I earn more through Rising Star at the moment... And I didn't invest more money into it than in SL...

I won't change my strategy much either because of the new APR. I'll keep staking HIVE and adding HBD to savings, because they are both my goals, and the 20% APR will hopefully help me reach the target for HBD. Not sure about HIVE, looks like this will add some pressure on HIVE to increase, if conversions reduce the supply of HIVE.
That will help for sure in your HBD goal! Good for you! It was a nice surprise to see 20% APR happening :)
And regarding HIVE price, we will see... I don't want to speculate a lot on that... I'm OK with any scenario regarding that... lol...

I don't think I will be changing my strategy either because HBD was already attractive to me at 12%. 20% just means I am earning more.
Rising Star had a lot of stuff come out this week and I got myself a few birthday cakes so I don't think I will ever run out of energy.

Great tracking records and adding HBD to the portfolio is a no brainer with the 20% APR. The only thing I am waiting is to see the pHBD on PolyCUB how much will bring on top of that and consider if to diversify there as well. At the moment the simplicity of HBD Savings makes it easier to add day after day.

Totally agree with you about the simplicity of HBD savings! As a matter of fact, I think that exactly that was a huge advantage of UST staking on Anchor protocol (besides 19.5% APR)... So, HBD with 20% and simple "staking" could be a great thing!

Great to see your progress on your Hive Goals there Zoltan, and yes 20% on HBD is fantastic, but we also need to count USD inflation into the calculations as that is what it's pegged to, keep on accumulating and stay awesome.

Hmm I don't quite understand this part. I was thinking from the situation where everyone powers down their Hive to convert to HBD, will we run into a situation where we don't have people curating/voting posts because everyone is getting 20% passively from HBD.
It was (and it should) work as a pool... I wasn't talking about "other people" but about people that stay with HivePower... If I don't power down, and others do, the price of HIVE stays the same MY upvote will be bigger, as the HIVE pool for rewards will stay the same (I hope so... if it's not changed with a hard fork)...
Actually, you can imagine it like a real pool... lol... If people leave the pool, you have more space to swim... :)
