Why We Need 'Project Blank' More Than Ever...
A few things happened to me today that made me sit back and realize a few things about this amazing blockchain we all call home...
Yes, this will be another one of my 'I can't wait for #ProjectBlank' posts and if you have tuned into any of the Crypto Maniacs podcasts with @taskmaster4450 and yours truly, you'll know we're both massive fan boys of this project!
But before I get into my 'excitement' let me go over why I'm feeling more bullish than ever for this application.
Reason #1 - The LeoFinance Mobile App Launch
Announced earlier today, we've got a set time and date for the launch of the highly anticipated mobile app from the LEO team!
In less than 48 hours, we'll get a taste of what potential will come with #ProjectBlank and I'm here for it :)
I'm even more excited because it's launching in iOS (yes, I'm an Apple fan boy too lol)
But here we are...A MASSIVE step towards every day adoption for not only LEO but also the Hive eco-system as well.
I can't wait to test this out and use it every day to interact with all the amazing people in this community!
Reason #2 - Noise.Cash's Lack Of Direction
I learned about Noise.Cash months ago from the LEO community. This project was a taste of what we all expected when it came to micro-blogging content in a crypto and blockchain environment.
Based on Bitcoin Cash, it's a centralized service that has a sole agenda...Create a use case for BCH and while at times they seem to look down on other blockchains, they've generally allowed the platform to become a 'Twitter' for crypto.
But their recent updates have left a lot in the Noise community scratching their heads. Again, it's not a blockchain and they are self-funding the 'tipping' that happens on the platform but it just seems like they are changing their approach to the management of the funds and how people are rewarded on the platform.
We really are spoiled here on Leo and Hive...
Because of the way the rewards pool on both Leo and Hive are set up, we don't need to reply on tips. And if you have the stake, you can send out what you want to the people creating here on the chain!
Which Brings Me To....
I love Noise. Mostly because I'm a huge fan of Twitter.
Of all the traditional social media platforms, Twitter is the one that has never been able to be duplicated on a blockcain.
YouTube - Meh...I'll take @threespeak all day, everyday over it!
Facebook - Please, give me Hive or LEO...Heck, I'd even hang out in Torum before I'd go back to Facebook and actually care about the content there lol
What I'm saying is....Twitter is unique. It's perfect for short form content and big time engagement and a lot of us here believe #ProjectBlank will be the answer we've been looking for.
And if the launch of Leo's mobile app goes the way I think it will, we are in for a MASSIVE end to 2021 and into 2022 for this blockchain.
We need a Twitter option and it has to be on a blockchain. As we have seen with Noise, there is a huge market for this kind of application but when it's not decentralized and / or on a blockchain...
We might as well just stay on Twitter.
#ProjectBlank can't come soon enough!!!
But for now, I'm going to REALLY enjoy the mobile app launch this week ;)

Sounds like a great project. The combination of what we like best of Twiter, Noise and the Hive Platform. Can't wait for the big announcement regarding when it will roll out.
I really hope that are trying to realize this project sooner than later. It would be so awesome to have it!
I think the mobile app is needed first, and once that launches...Oh boy, it's game on :)

It's usually the other way around, especially with blockchain mobile apps it seems. Android seems to be the go to for a lot of things, I'm happily surprised it's being launched on iOS. But maximum adoption will need both for sure!
Noise.cash latest update is a bit of a head-scratcher. Yes it's their money and this is one way to be less transparent about what they give out or not.
Nonetheless, I like the platform to get the latest happenings on crypto gaming and a platform to get my content outthere.
Agreed. I love Noise. I think it shows people what can be built when you embrace micro content. And at the end of the day, it's their BCH to do with as they please. Just wish they opened it up to a different way of distribution. And like you mentioned, keep it transparent for creators.
bashing noise cash never gets old, that's why I'm still sticking with it although some days I wonder why I bother. I just hope projectblank stops being a blockchain folk tale and steps into the realm of reality sometime in the next decade :P
It blows my mind how they don't see the opportunity they have, yet continue to spend everything out of pocket. It's not sustainable.
Of course it's not sustainable and their whole attitude wreaks of amateurism that's why I'm not invested in their platform's success

I actually wondered if we kind of got it the other day with #inji launch from therealwolf. I guess the biggest difference would be the limitation to 1 post/day and that long content is allowed. But other than that, I hope the leo team uses a similar approach as I really like the website.
Yeah for micro content I think it can't have a one post a day rule. Be interesting to see if that project takes off for sure.
Thanks for the info about Noise.Cash. I thought it was running on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain, so being centralized it's not different from Twitter now that you can send satoshi tips on there. That's even better for #projectblank since there won't be any competing dApp.
Nah completely centralized. All they are doing is tipping with BCH, there's really not a single thing 'blockchain' about it lol

Nah nah lol That's just the running code name it's been labeled as. But who knows.

Silly me... I thought the mobile release was Project Blank. Noise.Cash reminds me a lot of Google Plus, such a mess.

It's true. Our rewards pool even on the layer 2 solutions truly is remarkable.
I also think Project Blank could be a huge game changer.
Has there been any discussion of how to handle the rewards and voting though?
I have no issue with a $50 tweet. But this is one area where previous attempts to make a twitter clone have become problematic, given the shared nature of the reward pool.
Not 100% sure how all the tokenomics will work, but knowing the Leo team, they'll have that down to a science.
Curious why d.buzz always gets ignored by the "mainstream" here on Hive... It's a short form Twitter like app here on the Hive blockchain and it's been released for quite a while now unlike the "soon" of project blank.
Mostly because it posts on people's feeds. That's the number one reason.

My whole reason for every move I've made in the last year was for project blank but I really think the timing is off. It should have been launched before noise and when people were marching to parlor and exiting from twitter. Would have been way easier. I have high hopes but low expectations for success.

I am also greatly interested in Leofinance mobile application and this Project Blank, it's the first I have heard of it,,, I think... my friend talks about Leofinance all the time, and I finally joined, so sometimes I think I have heard of things, but I am not sure. But what I am sure of is that a mobile twitter on here would be fantastic!

Noise has lost it's appeal to me without showing the tips and notifications. I know that they are still there but it's not as fun when you cant see it happening.
I am excited to see project blank now that we have a glimpse of what can be built to replace twitter. It was a good start but we can do better.

I have been waiting for this release but since it's only going to be avaialble on ios first, I guess I still have to wait. 'That sucls".
