Just A Slice Is All We Need...
So in case you missed the news, Meta / Facebook recently launched their brand new application....
The Twitter killer!
And of course they named it...Threads lol
This post isn't about the app itself or the brand name they ripped off, excuse me, chose to name their platform. Instead, we're going to talk about...1%!
Let's take a look at the rough numbers so far from the launch of 'Threads by Meta' and apparently they had like 60 million Android downloads in the first few hours. I'm sure combined with iPhone users, it's over 100 million if not more already.
Insane numbers when you think of social media and the reach of these behemoth corporations. All they had to do was turn the switch on and say 'follow the same people you follow on Instagram' and presto, instant engagement and interactions.
100 million people in a few hours. It'll balloon to even bigger numbers over the next few days I'm sure but it makes you realize how big these platforms are.
Billions of people on planet earth have signed up to them and they seem to keep growing all the time. Now if we, the Hive blockchain, expect 100 million people to come running through our doors in the next few weeks, we'd be dreaming.
But you know what...We don't need 100 million. Imagine just 1% of that hanging out, engaging, creating, curating...Investing.
1 million people hanging out in the original version of Threads is pretty exciting to think about because right now, with just a handful of active users we are seeing the massive potential here.
I mean, this is a recent Thread from @forexbrokr and it got 11 views so far. Those 11 views (11 $LEO users) turned into about 0.24 $LEO being purchased eventually from the buy back.
11. People.
What kind of numbers would we see if that was....
1100 people?
11,000 people?
110,000 people?
Or 1% of what Meta's Threads is seeing right now?
You see, that's the potential and opportunity here. We don't need to be 'the next big thing' in social media. We just need a small piece of the traffic they generate and the activity they have.
Literally, 1% or heck, even less would make a massive difference in everyone's experience here on chain. It would sky rocket the price of everyone's holdings. And it would bring true decentralized #web3 to the masses...
And I just can't help but think, it's within our grasp!
We can piggyback off this 'Threads mania' that will last for at least the next week online lol We don't need 100 million, just a slice of the pie. And while it's a massive pie, I can't help but think in that pie, there are some that want to experience, what we are serving up here.

There is a lot of room for LEO to improve and I agree that even 1% of what Facebook gets with threads is good enough for us. It will take some more time before the stability issues get resolved.

I think 1% is definitely within grasp. Web3 is truly decentralized and it will give a more fulfilling experience that web2. These giant web2 behemoths are really good at marketing, let's see what records will it break :)
Even 1% might be a dream but we dont even need that much to make some serious waves with LEO!

I was sitting at home eating breakfast and I almost fell out of my chair when I heard them announce that it as going to be called Threads. I just started laughing and my wife thought I was crazy laughing at nothing. I explained it to her and then she got it. I'd love to think this might drive some people our way, but I am just not sure.

Honestly though, do you even think we are on their radar? Knowing how these businesses work, this is probably something they have been building out for years. Or not... Either way it's and interesting coincidence.
I must work and engage regularly because that is the way forward to increase my visibility in this space. @jongolson it's a mind-blowing article.

Threads are kind of cool too. There are lot of people online and they tend to reply and that kind of makes that place a good option for those who want different perspective on things. So having thread and posting your daily life questions you can get the guidance on the same.

Absolutely! With the current 'Threads mania' taking the online world by storm, there's no doubt that we can capture a significant share of the pie. Even a slice of this massive pie would be incredibly uplifting and rewarding. Let's go for it!

The Twitter users probably will keep using Twitter. It is one of the most known platforms. Similarly to Facebook and to YouTube. All have their own userbase.
Now consider what interest that would spark from IRL legacy investors. How competitive would our native oligarchy be with that economic ilk?

That is why Hive will NEVER see more than a trickle of onboarding, which will be controlled, as it has been, with ferocious opinion flagging until any growth is stymied by eliminating financial rewards from enough accounts that are driven from the platform, and the interest of legacy investors is killed to keep the big fish in our little pond safe from sharks like Sun Yuchen.
