I even forgot about SMT lol, it was a dream that never came to reality back on STEEM. Are we looking at making it a reality on HIVE? something am unaware off!

I think everybody gave up on that which is a wrong strategy. Without it will always be an archaic basic blockchain.

I would disagree. SMTs were going to mirror HIVE, being rather limited. While it would have opened the door for things, it still would not be smart contract capability. The decision is to layer 2 all SCs.
Ultimately, streamlining the base layer makes sense. We can recreate the idea of SMTs with some better layer 2 protocols. Hopefully they are being built.
