Terracore Sinkhole Idea: Addressing Economic Imbalance

Hive gaming and blockchain gaming in general is often driven by pursuit of profit. There are folks playing poker for mere pleasure of the game of course, but let's be honest people will not start playing blockchain games the way they play single player games.

I do not heed that attitude and what it seems so, the Terracore developer @crypt0gnome shows common approach. Of what I understand, @terracore would like to focus on competitiveness. People compete in various ways for various of reasons, after all.

So, why the game is becoming less and less fun?

Since, I don't have any firm data, I can only in terms of my feelings and experiences. What I feel is the game is loosing players and is not appealing to new ones.
And I feel it is because of the game's unbalanced economy. The ever falling scrap price, pegging some prices to USD equivalent created the situation where new players are unable to compete with those who had early start unless spending tens of dollars. And even if they did spend those dollars, they would immediately feel their investment is dripping away. But this situation is unlikely because no new player would toss in bucks knowing that in order to keep up he/she would need to invest even more.

Apart from top top (above my top 40), nobody can keep up with scrap price depreciation. This is wrong. Active playing should be enough to develop and at least retain the leaderboard position.

In every MMO game rebalancing or readjusting the economy is a common occurrence.

Proposed Solution

Since the issue, I point is scrap price depreciation, i want to battle that. I run the @terra.sinkhole project which aimed at using Hive curation/author rewards to pull scrap from the market. Before burning the proceeds I decided to provide liquidity in swap.hive:scrap pool (and flux:scrap). Even though, I have raised over 100k of scrap the project's impact is minimal (2% of liquidity in the former pool).

So I thought, what if there were OFFICIAL BOT ACCOUNTS that would invest in 2 statistics DAMAGE and FAVOR. They would attack the best target or targets at a classified or random time, claim the rewards. If there's enough scrap to buy DAMAGE upgrade, they would proceed and use the rest of scrap to burn for FAVOR. Some bot accounts should have max damage level set in order to pillage scrap at lower levels as well.

Attacks would take out scrap from the market and removes it from circulation

What's important, it would not require introducing any changes to the game.

I also think the idea of official bots is better than the idea of imposing tax (income or VAT-like) because still allows you to outsmart the system by being active (claiming scrap) or by upgrading your stats. This will also promote real players, not bots.

The proposed implementation of official bot accounts represents a balanced and innovative approach to addressing the economic challenges within Terracore. By reducing scrap circulation and rewarding active participation, this solution aims to rejuvenate player engagement and attract new participants, ensuring a more competitive and enjoyable gaming experience.

I could do this myself, however I think it would be transparent uf it was done by developers.
