The recent news about Ai models is one that caught my eye.
This one is coming from UK prime minister Sunak.
We’re working with the frontier labs — Google DeepMind, OpenAI and Anthropic. And I’m pleased to announce they’ve committed to giving early or priority access to models for research and safety purposes to help build better evaluations and help us better understand the opportunities and risks of these systems.”
Firstly, Sunak is one of those politicians who try hard, sometimes too hard, to be modest and admirable in the public eye. It's like a show to him, and he's having all the fun. There was a time he made sure he filled an electric car with gas.
Let's leave the banter anyway. We all know that crooks love to show how crooked they are.
News like this made it clear or should clarify it for people that AI isn't their friend. Giving a government priority access to an AI model for research or safety purposes is something that should not be taken lightly.
As we’ll be advancing more into AI models, what would be the fate of people who use these AIs to verify pieces of information? The type of access you get as an individual is different from what a government gets. What if they use it to find ways to make citizens pay more taxes?
I've read the sovereign individual, and it's clear that crypto and AI are on the opposite side of the spectrum. Ai, as stated, is said to be used mostly by governments, mostly to keep, manipulate and change the narrative of how people should see things.
We can all ramble about why AI is friendly to the government and crypto is unfriendly to them. This is because of one important reason, the government was never presented with any early or priority access by Satoshi Nakamoto when he created Bitcoin.
Imagine if the feds and governments were granted early access to cryptocurrency, making them whales and powerful enough to manipulate the markets, what do you think would have happened to crypto if that was the case?
But we are all glad it's not the case, crypto is meant for everyone and early access is granted to everyone. Unlike with new AI models, after being built, are immediately presented to the governments to test and utilize as they see fit while the people are left in the dark.
What do you think about this type of move from AI companies and the government having priority access? Feel free to leave a comment…
Great post @imacryptogeek.
OpenAI has become the focus of major industries today, with Google, meta, microsoft, Alibaba, etc, investing heavily in it.
Well, i think it is an open business to both parties. The government tends to benefit by getting informations, while the companies also benefits by selling out informations. That's the same idea they are shifting to the blockchain system.
