Boosterpacks on sale

Maybe some of you have already seen it. Currently there are relatively cheap Chaos Legion booster packs on Hive-Engine. Sometimes you can get a pack for 2,16$!

But why? Why is someone selling a Chaos Legion booster pack for half the price? Directly in the shop of Splinterlands a booster pack costs 4$.

But the explanation is quite simple

In the Splinterlands shop you can either pay with credits (1000 credits cost exactly 1 $) or with DEC. And that's where the problem lies.

A booster pack costs 4000 credits or 4000 DEC (without quantity discounts). So as long as 4000 DEC is worth more than 4$, you should pay with credits. It has always been this way since the hype last year. DEC moved WAY above this mark. At times 4000 DEC were worth 60$. 15 times as much.

This was due to the fact that DEC was in such high demand. Everyone wanted to own DEC. After all, the SPS airdrop promised an airdrop point for every single DEC and thus more SPS.

However, the Airdrop is coming to an end and the demand for DEC has dropped extremely.

In the meantime, 4000 DEC are worth less than 4$. At the moment it is just about 2.8$. For 2.8$ you get 4000 DEC, with which you can buy 1 booster pack. Therefore traders can afford to buy boosterpacks for DEC from Splinterlands and offer them for 2,8$ on Hive-Engine without making a loss.

But why is the price even lower than 2.8$?

Again, this is because of the Chaos Legion Airdrop cards. There are still 6 airdrops to go and every booster pack bought directly from Splinterlands counts towards the airdrop. So it's worth buying booster packs from Splinterlands and reselling them at the same price or even at a loss on Hive Engine, because the retailer got the chance to get the airdrop. And these will be legendary summoners, which will be very valuable.

Now if the bulk discount comes in (20%+ packs for 2000 packs bought), the retailer can offer the booster packs on hive engine even cheaper because a pack will end up costing him even less.

So if DEC drops even further, booster packs become even cheaper. If the price of 4000 DEC falls to $2, booster packs on Hive Engine could cost less than $1.60.

Whether it's worth speculating that the price of DEC, and consequently booster packs, will fall further, I can't judge. It is only really worth considering to buy the booster packs directly from Splinterlands or from private sellers via Hive-Engine. You can save a lot there.

Boosterpacks im Ausverkauf

Vielleicht hat es der ein oder andere schon gesehen. Aktuell gibt es relativ günstige Chaos Legion Boosterpacks auf Hive-Engine. Teilweise bekommt man dort ein pack für 2,16$!

Aber weshalb? Wieso verkauft jemand ein Chaos Legion Boosterpack für die Hälfte des Preises? Direkt im Shop von Splinterlands kostet ein Boosterpack immerhin stolze 4$.

Die Erklärung ist aber recht einfach

Man kann nämlich im Splinterlands Shop entweder mit Credits (1000 Credits kosten genau 1 $) bezahlen, oder mit DEC. Und genau da liegt der Hund begraben.

Ein Boosterpack kostet 4000 Credits oder 4000 DEC (ohne Mengenrabatte). Solange 4000 DEC mehr wert sind als 4$, sollte man also mit Credits bezahlen. Seit dem Hype im letzten Jahr war das immer so. DEC bewegte sich WEIT oberhalb dieser Marke. Zeitweise waren 4000 DEC 60$ wert. 15 mal so viel.

Das lag an dem Umstand, dass DEC so heiß begehrt war. Jeder wollte DEC besitzen. Schließlich versprach der SPS Airdrop für jeden einzelnen DEC einen Airdroppunkt und somit mehr SPS.

Der Airdrop geht aber dem Ende zu und die Nachfrage nach DEC ist extrem gefallen.

Inzwischen sind 4000 DEC weniger als 4$ wert. Aktuell gerade mal rund 2,8$. Für 2,8$ bekommt man 4000 DEC, womit man wiederum 1 Boosterpack kaufen kann. Daher können es sich Händler leisten Boosterpacks für DEC von Splinterlands zu kaufen und sie für 2,8$ auf Hive-Engine anbieten ohne Verlust zu machen.

Aber wieso liegt der Preis sogar noch unter 2,8$?

Das liegt wiederum an den Chaos Legion Airdrop Karten. Es stehen immer noch 6 Airdrops aus und jedes direkt bei Splinterlands gekaufte Boosterpack zählt für den Airdrop. Es lohnt sich also Boosterpacks bei Splinterlands zu kaufen und zum selben Preis oder sogar mit Verlust auf Hive-Engine weiterzuverkaufen, denn der Händler hat ja die Chance auf den Airdrop erhalten. Und das werden legendäre Summoner, die sehr wertvoll sein werden.

Kommt jetzt noch der Mengenrabatt (20%+ Packs bei 2000 gekauften Packs), kann der Händler die Boosterpacks auf Hive-Engine noch günstiger anbieten, weil ihn ein Pack am Ende noch weniger kostet.

Sollte DEC also noch weiter fallen, werden Boosterpacks noch günstiger. Wenn der Preis für 4000 DEC auf 2$ fällt, könnten Boosterpacks auf Hive Engine weniger als 1,60$ kosten.

Ob es sich lohnt darauf zu spekulieren, dass der Preis für DEC und demzufolge für Boosterpacks weiter fällt, kann ich nicht einschätzen. Es ist nur wirklich eine Überlegung wert die Boosterpacks direkt von Splinterlands zu kaufen oder von privaten Verkäufern über Hive-Engine. Da kann viel gespart werden.
