INLEO's Creator Subscriptions Were Launched This Week

I've talked about them a few times. Recently, I published a full post this week after creator subs were launched, and also it was featured as the main Hive news on my report from two weeks ago, even before release.

It is an important development for Inleo and Hive, but I feel I already have written what was to say about them for the time being. The best sources of information in this case for anyone interested remain:

Two Thirds of the World's Podcasts Are Announced via Hive

In this short intro by Crim for Web3 Global Spaces, I was intrigued when I heard those numbers. @bil.prag says he heard Adam Curry mentioning the numbers, but we do contribute to that number with our 3Speak videos, which are also podcasts. Still very impressive.

Here's the quote of his reply on my comment, which I believe shows how far advanced tech Hive is compared to what was used previously and still is being used by some platforms that prefer to keep this service in-house and very hardware-heavy (but they can afford it):

by the numbers it is probably pretty true. not sure is it 2/3, heard Adam Curry mentioning numbers. but we do contribute to it with 3speak videos 😂

most podcasting 2.0 apps are using it. some old podcasting apps are using it. Several big ones still don't. but from what i learned the old system is super slow and hardware heavy (few seconds podping vs best case few hours old system).

Miss Bitcoin Has a Brand New Shop... Powered by Hive

Alejandra Guajardo, "Miss Bitcoin" just announced her new shop. Good for her! What I like even more is that it's on Hive, created using Wavio.

And she of course promotes her new shop to her 10k followers on X and 40k on Instagram (website link; maybe she even posted about it, but I don't have an Instagram account), from what I could find at a quick search. 😉

PeakD Launched Snaps, Its Short Form Content Alternative

A development that got quite a bit of coverage this week has been Snaps from PeakD. Snaps is the short-form content implementation from the PeakD team. I like the inclusiveness of their implementation, something I believe Ecency has too, but I'm not sure if they have added all options (haven't checked in a while).

PeakD Snaps presents all short form content alternatives on Hive that use container posts (without dBuzz, which creates top-level posts), meaning Threads from Inleo, Waves from Ecency, and Moments from Liketu.

There were a couple of posts from influential Hivers talking about PeakD Snaps this week, but I'll link the official announcement.

Waivio Officially Introduces Recipes

Recipes are now integrated into Wavio and social shopping sites, as announced a few days ago. It's implemented as a Recipe object type that gathers all the details about a recipe.

As usually, there is already a functional website presenting the new feature.

Posh Began an Impressions Contest

The new contest is only for Reddit impressions. Winners can receive HP delegations that don't have an expiration date, but only the condition that the winner remain active on Reddit where they won it. If they are inactive for more than 2 weeks, delegations will be revoked. Here are the details.

Ecency Finished Migration to the New Framework

Ecency announced that they completed the migration from RazzleJS to Next.js framework, and mentioned that during the process implemented significant enhancements, becoming more configurable.

VSC and Hive Accounts Explained

In a post that doesn't go into technical details, the VSC team explains what will their accounts be and what they'll initially be able to do, by comparison to full Hive accounts, and what it takes to create one of each. VSC accounts will not have all the options of Hive accounts, but they'll be easier to create.

Financial (and not only) Update from Bro Fund

Unlike SPInvest, Brofund doesn't create regular financial updates. So, if you are invested in the project, maybe you should read this, if you haven't already.

Splinterlands Learned How to Better Leverage Weekly Challenges

It takes shortages in manpower and funding to look for out of the box solutions. It's not the first time I see this from Splinterlands lately, and I'm glad to see it. It's one thing to write about a battle on a given theme, it's another to write a post that may end up as a support article. The theme for this week's challenge is how to make the most out of your Glint in the Glint Shop, a guide for players at different levels, so with different levels of Glint. @tibfox announced a small meetup at the Hafenspitze in Flensburg, on November 9th.

SpendHBD Generates a Lot of Interest

This may be the first community meeting in Nigeria, certainly the first one I've seen posts about on-chain (but of course, I don't see everything). It was a workshop in the city of Aba focused on SpendHBD and onboarding some new people. 35 people attended, including new people who were onboarded.

I learned from a follow-up post that 7 businesses have been whitelisted in this city to be used with Distriator.

A New Satoshi Nakamoto

People don't seem to handle well an unsolved mystery, and they keep trying and trying to solve it.

A recent HBO documentary claimed that it will reveal who Satoshi Nakamoto is. And their conclusion is: he is Peter Todd, one of the early devs involved in developing bitcoin. He obviously denies.

Frankly, I don't care who Nakamoto is. I care about its legacy. If you are interested about the HBO documentary, here's one of the many articles on the topic.

FBI Created a Token on Ethereum to Catch Pump & Dumpers (Among Others)

Look what I came across looking for recent news in crypto... I thought crypto isn't regulated... So, how does one explain the charge "widespread fraud and manipulation in the cryptocurrency markets"? Anyway, here are the details.
